Would it be fair to consider Dom5 as more like Dom 4.5? Same game, but with everything improved a little bit?
.
I'm a big fan of Dom4, but can't really justify buying what appears to be much the same game at its full prices. With the summer sale discount however....
The real-time battles alone make it worth it to me. Watching the armies smash into each other instead of politely taking turns is more fun; also you get to watch fliers take off and land in the battles.
Of course not everyone plays multiplayer but it's far far easier to find a Dominions 5 game than it is to find a Dominions 4 game.
Like pencils said, the transition to real-time combat and the bless overhaul give this game an entirely new dimension. In addition, hundreds of units get added abilities like "Unsurroundable", "Combat Caster" or "Magic Tattoos".
You also get six new nations (with two more rumored to be coming in upcoming patches) with their own national spells and summons, new independent races and, of course, an active modding scene. :)
C'mon. Buy it!
