Nations with strong/powerful priest (level 3 and more)
Can we start a list of nations with strong priest?

I feel like only nations with access to level 3 priest and above are only worth my attention regarding blesses because of their ability to mass bless.

What are your thoughts?

EA:
Abysia
Ermor
C'tis
Mictlan
Agartha
Ur
Berytos (The ingame window say they have strong priest but the only one I see is a bride-in-waiting lvl 2 priest)
Atlantis
R'lyeh (the ingame window say they have average priest, but their Grandmother priest is lvl3)
Pelagia
Oceania (The ingame window say they have strong priest, but I only see lvl2 priest)

MA:
Ermor
Nazca
Marignon
C'tis
Pythium
Mictlan
Sceleria
Agartha
Abysia
Uruk
Nazca
Atlantis
Oceania (The ingame window say they have strong priest, but I only see lvl2 priest)

LA:
C'tis
Mictlan
Marignon
Abysia
Gath
Xilbalba

Sound like the list is complete.

There are, as someone pointed out, priest level 3 you can summon.

If I am not wrong, some of the Hinnom/Gath summoning have angels that may be priest level 3, but I am not sure

Bogarus is one of the strongest. 2-point recruitable H3 at quite cheap.

It depends how you organize, but having H3 priest helps a lot claiming thrones, here goes the ones I remember:
EA:
Ermor
C'tis
Mictlan

MA:
Ermor
Nazca
Marignon
C'tis
Pythium
Mictlan

LA:
C'tis
Mictlan

Those are the ones I remember, plus fish bishop that can only be cast underwater

Yes, I like level 3+ priests.

MA Sceleria has a level 3 priest, Grand Thaumaturg.

Unfortunately their sacred are so so and cap only so it seems they are all dressed for the party but have nowhere to go.

EA Abysia doesn't have a level 3 priest?

I put only the ones I remember or the ones I play the most

If you're only using small numbers of sacred troops lower level priests are easily sufficient. The problem with most H3s is that they take 4 commander points to recruit. Sure an archbishop of the sacred shroud is nice to have, but most of the time you'd get more mileage out of 2 augurs or an augur elder (which you'd be giving up to get the archbishop).

Oh, and in addition to the list above, LA Marignon has an H3.

Don't forget Bishop Fish, a Conj 6 summon with W3 and 15 gems. Give him a shambler skin and he can come on land. Very useful for nations with no national H3 priest. Also you can use a communion / sabbath to raise the level of priest-mages in battle.

But isn't the purpose of the new blessing system is to make sure your sacred unit get as much powerful as possible? Wouldn't you want an army filled with sacred unit being blessed by a lvl3 priest?

Atlantis.
The new blood bond spell is wicked on their sacred. Feels like it synergizes even more with very high protection, medium health units (like Living Pillars) than very high health, high(-ish) protection units (like Niefel or Rephaim Giants). Together with Regeneration, you only lose 1-2 vs LOTS of heavy cavalry or elephant provinces, especially in 2 or 3p thrones. Other than that, they're virtually immortal vs indies and the AI.

Keep in mind while a nation might not have a recruitable H3 unit, they might have a summon that is H3 (although I suspect it's the early game you're asking about).

Early game yeah...
Its not everyone who has access to a level 3 priest summon
Igigi Dec 3, 2017 @ 11:57am
Yeah I know that. I said "they" might. For example, Kailasa, no H3 recruitable. But 2 H3 and 1 H4 summons. I didn't say everyone has H3 summons.

Please note that some of the astral nations can set up a communion to get priest level 3. Example of these nations would be Maverni and Kailasa. (At least their EA version, haven't tested later ages.)

Do talk more about that if possible

That could do a lot of good for some nations and could make their sacred and priest a most needed boost

So there is no way in game of increasing your priest's levels?, they are set by the nation?

I had been wondering about that.

Sometimes, but not always. Sacreds are usually very expensive and can only be recuited in limited numbers. Often, small numbers of excellent troops will be defeated by much larger numbers of average troops. (There's a reason "skellyspam" was so effective in Dominions 4.)
