Cure-All Elixir, a craftable item that can heal creatures its equipped to. I believe its nature and contruction 6.
Disease Grinder, craftable unique artifact, turns 1 disease affliction into death gems per month
I think there is an Adventurer that has healer, but it's impossible to get on purpose, it comes from an event.
And many nations have access to at least one pretender chassis that has Healer or Disease healer.
You can summon a Faerie Queen (Conj-8).
For disease healing specifically, there are three items that heal disease: Eye Pendant (E3D3, Const-6), Elixir of Lilfe (N5 I think, maybe Const-4?), and the Disease Grinder, an artifact which I think is D/F.
That's all I can think of. I mostly play SP, so I just ignore afflictions until such time as I can get Gift of Health up. I prefer nations where everything important is recruitable-anywhere, so afflictions don't matter all that much for me.
Again same question for faerie queens. If I remember right from dm4 they are only disease healers.
It's all nature stuff right? I will run a MAN test game and find out I guess.
For some reason this always tickled me. I always imagine some Monty Python knights hunting you down when you have it. lol :)
Makes awake pretenders much weaker too, unless you want to go with the boring snake.
I checked in Dom5 and you are correct. My bad--I was remembering Dom3.
For pretenders and sacreds you can take a recuperation bless, if it bothers you that much.
Also, I think pretenders heal some afflictions after being called back from the dead by Call God.
Eh call god is just too slow for when it matters. I'm talking early expansion into unknown territory, i've been burned by disease from unknown magic sites in a few games now.
One of those was on a throne as well, which made the game extra fun.
Also FYI regenaration will heal afflications just like recuperation, so items and blesses that give you that will also work
I don't believe this is true. Regeneration can help *prevent* afflictions in the first place but it doesn't heal them.
Also, a good tip for early expansion is to beware of any province that randomly has death scales (like if it has no candles yet or it's in your growth 3 dominion). Death scales in of themselves can cause afflictions and increase aging, but if you look at a province and go "huh, why does this have death scales?" that's pretty much always because there's a hidden death site spreading disease. Steer clear and for goodness sakes don't put a fort there and start recruiting mages like I did one time.
Unless it's a forest province. At least in Dom4 there was a rarity 0 nature site called dying forest which increases deathscale, so forest provinces with death scale were about 50/50 on causing disease.
