Red/blue/green bars on unit status in battle?
Have seen some coloured bars next to a small icon of a unit during battle. Usually it's red, sometimes there's a blue one, and less frequently green.

I'm assuming red is a low health warning, green movement, and blue morale?

Checked the manual and online but couldn't find the answer.

Thanks

The Red Bar signifies that a unit has been wounded.

The Blue bar signifies that a unit has accumulated a significant amount of Fatigue.

The Green bar signifies that a unit has been Poisoned.

My guess is that it's kind of a way to tell, at a glance, the status of units which don't appear graphically on the main battlefield (in the way that other status effects such as Burning, Chilled, Asleep or Petrified do).

I am not sure, but I believe that red is damage taken, blue is fatigue level and green is ongoing poison damage. Those are the colors used to describe those particular statistics on the unit screen, anyway.

It seems that you have beaten me to it. I agree with your assessment, it does seem likely to be the case.

Thanks will check those again. I thought green was speed as I noticed a unit slowed down when it happened but must have been poisoned.

On a side note, when a spell is shown with blue text (on the screen where you can assign it) what does that mean?

All it means is that the spell was cast. ;) This is just a GUI change from Dom 4, where you would have to look at the upper-left hand corner to see what spells were cast.

Two notes about the colors:

(1) The amount of red on the unit stats screen is proportional to the absolute value of the damage taken, not the proportion relative to full HP. A dragon who taken 15 points of damage out of 100 HP will have as much red as a human hero who's taken 15 points of damage out of 16 HP total.

(2) If you press 'c' during a battle replay, you'll see colored squares reflecting teams, plus red (and blue/etc.) dots telling you how much damage each unit has taken. In this view, each red dot is 20% of full health. If a unit is at four red dots it is almost dead.

Thanks, I figured it out. It's a national spell (Holy Pyre).

Thanks. Yes was wondering why the red bar didn't seem proportional, or the others which threw me off a little. Good to know about the second part!
