How to fish Froggy?

The levels of Big the Cat are really hard, but is impossible to get them when I try to fish Froggy. When Froggy bites the hook, inmediately this frog release it and go away.
I need help.

Move the left thumbstick (gamepad controls) just as he bites to hook him on. then reel in the hook with A or B (X or Circle) and moving the line in time with his movements to stop the line tension bar from filling up and allowing him to get away.

If he does escape once he's hooked, (or any of the fish for that matter) Big won't die but it counts as a fail so he'll lose a life.

I just wiggle the left stick to hook him.
You have to be at least 4m away for him to even notice the bait tho.

I have no controler. Each time Froggy bites the hook he wait a second and drop the hook. He never bites this way i can catch him.

I forgot i had an controler. It was a present long ago. If Froggy bites the hook you need to wiggle the left stick. Its only works this way. I dont know if its possible to make the same with the arrowkeys.

Its really bad that the creaters didnt tell you how it works. Its really strange that they didnt tell you, because they have so many fairys and peoples there and all of them got a own text, its not less work, but then they forgot this important explanation? Without the internet you have no chance to get this out.

His levels are actually pretty easy if you do the tutorials. So the person above is wrong when they say the game "never tells you". You press down when he bites the hook.

Looks like you never played this game, because you dont know that there are no tutorials for this game. By the way to press down didnt work.

MY FRIENDS IT IS POSSIBLE WITHOUT A CONTROLLER!

I have done this almost impossible task
it was a dark night a few years back and i was too struggling to catch the green phantom known as "froggy", my friend and I decided to reside to the great library of google in search of an answer to catch the beast

we fount and old text document about the creature claiming you have to press a key at the moment he bites, This was many years ago and since my arrow to the knee I no longer adventure so I cannot remember which key however

I recommend trying the different keys at the moment of biting and if this doesn't work I seem to remember pushing up caught the beast.

I completed the game 100% so it must be possible as I did not own a controller until recently

Maybe you should pay attention and look instead of spouting nonsense. Check my Screenshots for some evidence. I guess you havent played the game enough to know you have to press down to hook Froggy

Since this is still a high search result, you just need to mash WASD to replicate spinning the left control stick on PC.

If you are using pc controls then press a and d repeatedly to get froggies attention then when he follows the line press s and he will bite, when it says hit press a and d to move camera around properly and reel in fast but make sure it doesn’t go to the top red part in the reel bar
