One of The Best In the Series
Is it sad that this game is still much better than than the most recent games? You’d expect the games to improve, and SA2 is a big improvement, but SA1 is still one of the best to play in the series. A lot of replayability, full 3D levels, great music, a large attention to detail, and a story that connects it all well.

It feels much more complete with actual effort put behind it. Especially when we compare it with games like Forces, Boom, and Lost World

(take notes mario sunshine xD)
As much as I love Mario Sunshine, the progression system there was that game's biggest flaw.
I enjoy the controls in Sunshine the most, but the progression ends up making a lot of the shines pointless

The worst ones are the blue coin hunting and that poisoned sewer level in Dolphic Town/Delfino Plaza. You know the one I mean.

On the controls side, I'm used to the gamecube ones from physical machine & Dolphin, but I'm glad the Switch port ones are mostly easy to adapt to. I've yet to play Galaxy on Switch at time of writing.

I was mainly talking about the main quest, where you have to finish all the episode 7's in every level to reach the final boss and ending, regardless of how many shines you have. That means if there's a particular challenge you don't like or find too difficult, then tough luck.

It also means there's no reason to get any of the secret shines or collect the blue coins unless you really want to go for 100% completion, which I personally don't mind since I have so much fun doing so, and I'd happily take that over both Galaxy games, where Galaxy 1 made you replay the whole game as Luigi and Galaxy 2 made you collect those green stars, something you should've been able to just collect through the main game.

Comparatively Mario 64 sucks. Comparatively. Both Sunshine and Galaxy are better despite Mario 64 being alright. Sunshine has better graphics, better controls, voice acting which is a massive plus regardless of quality, fun secret levels and a better camera.

I can list the problems Sunshine has on one hand: namely:

A few shines are bad and/or tedious making them not worth it such as the Yoshi one in Delfino Plaza, the blue coin hunting and a few of the more hidden ones like spraying golden birds with water.

There's not enough slides in the game compared to Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy 2

It takes place in a holiday resort and yet there's no waterpark world, the closest it gets being Ricco Harbour & Pinna Park.

Excuse me what? How having voice acting "makes it a plus regardless of quality"? Also the secret levels are most of the time tedious and the camera is bad...

Also Sunshine is about an island, not some random holiday resort...

No, the camera is not bad and the secret levels are mostly fun except the chuckster one near the end. I bet you didn't even play Sunshine and are only saying that to be contrary.

Voice acting is better than mute characters because mute characters are boring. The only reason games used to have no voice acting is because they couldn't fit it in the game since computers couldn't handle more than one to two bytes at a time back then. Now they can have voices and they are better for it. Mute characters just look like arseholes who climb on people's furniture, steal the cutlery and stare at people when they tell them to stop. It's even worse if they have a name or existing reputation with other characters because they must have spoken at some point to introduce themselves.

Even bad or cringey voice acting is better than none at all because at least it's something. I will grit my teeth and bear bad voice acting if it means I can have more relateable characters than creepy mutes.

Not to mention the other kind of voiceless character where they speak gibberish with subtitles is the worst because it's cheating. It makes said characters come across as half-awake drunks.

Despite Mario Sunshine being better than Mario 64, A Hat in TIme is a way better 3D Mario game than any of them, thanks in part to full voice acting and it's not afraid to get dark like Mario Galaxy's end of game apocalypse e.g. the Subcon Forest zone, the Empress and pretty much every faction in the game when you read between the lines.

Also, Sunshine is about A HOLIDAY RESORT ON AN ISLAND which you'd know if you actually played the damn game. It's right there in the intro cinematic before the start screen.

One more thing: stop using ellipsies in place of full stops. Here is the proper use of them:

引用自 grammarbook.com
Rule 1. Many writers use an ellipsis whether the omission occurs at the beginning of a sentence, in the middle of a sentence, or between sentences.

A common way to delete the beginning of a sentence is to follow the opening quotation mark with an ellipsis, plus a bracketed capital letter:

Example: "… [A]fter hours of careful thought, we vetoed the bill."

Other writers omit the ellipsis in such cases, feeling the bracketed capital letter gets the point across.

For more on brackets, see Parentheses and Brackets.

Rule 2. Ellipses can express hesitation, changes of mood, suspense, or thoughts trailing off. Writers also use ellipses to indicate a pause or wavering in an otherwise straightforward sentence.

Examples:
I don't know … I'm not sure.
Pride is one thing, but what happens if she …?
He said, "I … really don't … understand this."

This is like, literally the worst gaming take I've seen. I'm glad that Link doesn't talk (because look how bad the CDI game has shown it). Dragon Quest keeping the classic speak sound is also a good thing because of how great the serie is.

Also Mario should still make sounds like he did in Mario 64 and Banjo's "talk" is too iconic to be changed...

I'm right because that is how you speak english. Not that a simpleton like you would understand. It's called "backing up your claims with factual evidence" which is something you also constantly fail to understand.

There was voice acting in Breath of the Wild and everyone loves that game. Dragon quest is generic fantasy garbage, Mario's sounds are just a gameplay thing, he should still talk in cutscenes with voiced dialog as should all other characters and Banjo's "talk" was the babbling of an invalid, making the characters unlikable. Conker's Bad Fur Day by the same developer did not make the same mistake as Banjo and it's a better game for it.

How about you stop acting contrary and being a jerk like you always are when provided with evidence against you. Face it: I proved you wrong and you're mad about it like a little kid.

Also, "like" is not a substitute for a comma. Are you one of those disgusting valley girls from boring high school TV shows who can't speak their own language?
Me right because me speak my language, you wrong because you not speaking my tongue

This is how you sound there.

Also DQ isn't "generic fantasy garbage", it's literally like one of the best and most iconic JRPG franchise ever made... It literally saying something like "Final Fantasy is just generic sci fi garbage" (even if it's maybe a bit true for the more recent ones and I'm glad FF16 go back to fantasy like in the origins of the series).

B&K >>> Conker (which is ridiculously vulgar and gross, something that isn't missing from the 90's imho).

And I've also reported you for being rude.

"WAAHHHH! THE MEAN BOY CALLED ME OUT ON BULLYING HIM AND NOW i'M TELLING!"

That is how you sound there.

I've reported you right back for trolling and being rude yourself in your opening text. All i did was call you out on you attacking me for having different opinions to you. You are just being toxic.

I don't know what you're on but I'm sure you're the one getting angry over someone simply expressing their opinion...

Sonic Adventure is simply a bad game with tons of glitches and a bad camera, it's just a simple fact.

SA1 DX has glitches. The original Dreamcast one and the DCC mod for PC do not. Also, it's camera is miles better than Mario 64 or Galaxy. I know this because I actually played the games on those platforms and saw for myself.

Opinions are not facts and never will be. LOOK IT UP. https://teachingcommons.lakeheadu.ca/fact-vs-opinion-resource

Whenever we simply express OUR opinions, you say we're wrong, argue with us constantly and resort to projection and running crying to the teacher when you've run out of insults.

You're a hypocrite.

Even the original SA1 was jank and it's true because it's a rushed Saturn game that got quickly ported to a different hardware.

I wish Sonic X-treme was released instead...

That because despite the voice acting for all the different characters, Link doesn't talk and was still a silent protagonist. It's just like Super Mario Sunshine and Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy.

Sunshine's camera is most definitely better than either of these games for one simple reason - actual fully manual camera control with the C stick. And it actually works wonders unlike so many other games at the time. However, just like most things in Sunshine, it may take a little getting used to.

That's why I didn't include it in the comparison. Mario 64's one usually gets stuck on things and Galaxy's one is a crapshoot about whether the rotate camera controls will work in that specific area of the level or not.
