100% would buy if camera angle had options.
Til then I won't put myself through that.

The game would be too easy with a different camera angle.

Looks terribly meh to play if the only challenge the dev can provide is "you can't see what's coming, now react"

Same here. Played the demo and enjoyed the gameplay but won't be buying the game unless they add camera options because the current one is awful.

Nothing wrong with having options.

Picture yourself actually doing something like this. You're going to have to learn the trail. This is the best biking game you're going to find. Embrace the madness of the camera angle it is part of the fun formula.

Agree with OP. Opposite camera angle turns this game from fun 100% buy to infuriating 100% avoid :(.
Instant buy if more than 1 camera option.

I disagree, part of the game's design is the perspective. Total information about shortcuts and the like would make the game too easy.

Minimizing this game mechanic as "the only challenge the developer can provide..." is cheapening the experience, which IMO is amazing to play.

Plus, that mechanic is key in capturing the mountain biking feeling:
- not knowing what's around the bend
- shortcuts are risks
- speed is a risk
- tunnel vision
- difficulty of balance and holding a line

The camera makes these factors real. If I had a follow-cam, then balancing on a tree trunk is super easy when using one.

Furthermore, thinking about this game as though it's a racing/sim type game (where camera options are expected, total information of track layout is a thing and all you're focused on is a good time) actually misses it entirely.

Disagree all you like, we just won't buy it.

From what I know all of the environnements are made for this single camera angle. There is nothing to see, if you rotate it in any other direction.

So unfortunately the game isn't for you - but that's a good problem to have. Even if it won't be addressed. (i.e. you were reached and like everything else)

You'll simply need to stick to games with a different camera.

Fair enough... as YinYin already mentioned, its not really possible to "just turn the camera" as the mountains, their guidance and challenges are designed for that perspective and view direction.

I love it, don't change a thing except to add more maps!

Well that's up to you guys as to how much you want your game to succeed or not.

I'm in thesame position- absolutely love the game, but the camera is really bugging me.

It is not because it's downward facing- that's great. It's because the camera seems to be very keen on focusing 2/3 BEHIND the biker at times, rather than in front, where you're going. If that camera would focus just a little bit more in front of the biker- so you can at least see a BIT more where you're going, it's a buy for me.

basically this.

if devs want more money they should be listening, this is an easy update.
