He's right. I had attacks hitting that were under my ac.

Offhand buffing is broken. As soon as you go to swap, it vanishes. I was curious if this was intentional, but I've spoken to several of the regulars when shopping at Citadel and they all say it should be working.

Since penultimate server restart 15 hours ago, there has been atrocious lag. We keep dying to lagged healing pots and med-kits, along with being free and clear and monsters just lagging on top of us. At one point, it was 7 seconds wait and it wasn't for a moment, it stayed at at 6 - 7 for several minutes. I was in party yesterday and today and both times they all logged eventually when dying to lag.

One guy said just now, that it was intentional. I don't know.

It seems a silly thing to do when caster/pm's only get Golums to build. Only casters can survive, given the ab of the creatures on there.
You've already cut off a huge amount of classes that can play, why would you restrict it even farther ?

You can report server bugs for Blackstone here:

I deleted my 33 dual wield due to above and made an AA instead. In Oasis they only need to roll a 6 to hit me. Then got talking with DM-mask-inc. Who said:-

"There is only 2 AC builds that work on bsk, else you need both resistances and immunity to physical"

I told him I have the bracers, the ones with 10/- bludge, pierce and slash on. But as my ac is so low on bow, they make no difference. I made a resser on my mobile due to the amount of deaths and ended up using it to buff my AA, who even fully buffed and donning combat bracers, cannot even take the basic giants in a 1v1 without running, shooting and pulling more enemies.

You constantly get told off for doing the wrong thing. Well. When there is only 2 AC builds that work, there's going to be some trial and error. Although I do not want one of those builds, i'm no sheep. Shouldn't be forced to make the exact same 2 as everyone else.
This is why I didn't like this server. Seemed fun at first but it because very obvious you need to make a build that the DMs have in mind in order to advance on the server. That's just poor development.

The server is not made for the standard AC cookie cutter builds and is more about gaining and crafting gear for DR/DI. So, if that bothers you, then naturally, you won't like it.

Yeah seems to be built for 2 or 3 build, which is boring. Why not just create the characters for us? Easy pass.

Well, if you want someone to do it for you. here is a list of 13 builds by Yunim:

They should all still be viable despite some changes that were made after these were posted.

Word of Advice

Most if not all of the larger NWN servers and persistent worlds have their own set of House Rules and custom systems in place. You like them or you do not.

The proper way to raise concern is through their official channels, be them their forums, their Discord server and with their admins. Who knows? Perhaps your concerns have merit, and something is a bug or some script is indeed broken.

The Steam Community forums are not the place for this sort of thing.
I have made hundreds of builds over the years on dozens of servers. I have "never" looked online for a build. Granted the odd one was way out of balance and forcing you a certain direction, but even those, most classes could run end game content if done the right way.

Sometimes it would take a few days of restarting or rerolling, but "I always" came up with something.

Every time I see someone mention discord, I am reminded of Scotty when they went back in time for the whales. A Keyboard ? How quaint. Multiple servers, one Steam. If thy miss it, I can soon nudge in game.

Old fashioned or not, it is the proper way and has been the proper way since this game was released and its first multiplayer servers went online, more than 20 years ago.

Complaining here in the hopes of gaining support or approval from the borader playerbase, and as some kind of peer pressure to force the server owners to cater to your individual needs, will not work.

I don't do any of that social media stuff anymore. Most of it is incomprehensible dribble arguing against incomprehensible dribble from the younger generation. The last time I did anything like that, was when I was running a pool league on POGO. We were all on yahoo messenger.
Proper way to do D&D??? You can claim it is the way you want to do it, But there is no proper way. It is fantasy with dice rolls. You can do high Magic no magic or anything in between. There is JRPG CRPG and just Plain RPG just tell people up front what you want and let then decide if they like what you do, Some will some won't, But saying your way is the only proper way smacks of the sort of arrogance I find distasteful at best. Some where I have around here the original 4 book D&D set plus the chainmail rules from which it derived, I have Played the ICE rules both scifi and fantasy traveler, tunnels and trolls empire of the petal throne runequest and others to numerous to mention plus my own house rules. There is no one way to play fantasy roleplaying games. The only people I know of who seem to think other wise were those I called, back in the day. the frustrated actors guild whose presence I fled like the bloody minded plague they were.

Reading comprehension before posting is too much to ask for? I am starting to see why some struggle alot.

There is a proper way of raising concern or complaints with a set of rules or systems from a server that seem alien or confusing to you. The proper way is to use the channels meant and that exist for it.

Complaining about a private server or bashing it on the Steam forums is of little to no help to yourself or to the owners of that server.

At the end of the day, you either engage with the systems that they changed and developed or you do not and move on to the next one. Complaining here about it is pointless.

No one says you can't run your server any way you want but that should be in the intro and then you avoid problems of the sort ypu are currently dealing with. From what I see right now in this thread I wouldn't be interested in what you are doing, Nothing against you personally what you're doing just isn't my bag, And the primary person you are dealing with here doesn't seem to care for it either. Is he out of bounds telling you how to run your server of courser. On the other hand after you explained to him that wasn't how your system operated and how it did you had no further reason to argue with him at that point you are into different strokes territory and there are no longer going to be winners and losers just hurt feelings.

I am not an admin or a developer of Blackstone Keep.

The advice I posted is the way of how it is usual for most of these large multiplayer persistent worlds to handle feedback and address player concerns. Complaining about them here, on Steam, serves no other purpose other than antagonise everyone for the sake of it.
