This game has an option to add your own custom notes to the minimap with map pins.
When you find an NPC that gives you a quest from inside a sub zone like inside a house, open your minimap. Go outside the house. On the minimap, click "create map pin", drop it on the house, name it "quest giver - quest name".
This game comes from a time when players were expected to explore the majority of the map to find all the quests/secrets and sometimes even make their own notes in a journal.
