I only just started. There is a little recon to why no one talks about the hero of Neverwinter which i found cute. Beyond that they start by stripping your gear and auto you to level 10. So you font need to use a old character save. Beyond that i don't know because i have to go to bed

Being level 10 with no gear and no henchmen, it seems pretty difficult so far, but I might be missing something

Has anyone tried this in co-op? Module says it's single player only but we can try to play it.

While i was happy to think/know this is doing the underdark thing where you get your items later i see your point. As a archer having no bow and arrows is annoying. The game does shower you in light armor and hatchets, i even found a heavy armor top. One nice thing is you start in a city where the gaurds can help you. Sadly those hatchets and such are off the dead bodies of the guards. Plus I'm playing on easy so yea this would be alot worst on more challanging levels.
I started my PnP career a couple decade ago now under a DM who loved to use various heavy handed plot reasons to strip us of our gear. In PnP at least a Ranger's survival skills could get one by pretty well, but rarely do campaigns in this version of D&D have a lot of craftsman friendly elements when they are most needed.

To that end I suggest the old reliable 1 monk, 2 paladin, the rest in sorcerer with a pixie familiar to act as your trap smith. This build will provide a fair bit of inherent protection, and have plenty of stopping power with the right spells. I always suggest lingering spells that get more mileage than a single DPS cast. A good summon, and the right henchman when available will let you feel like you have a full party with just you, your familiar, your summon, and your henchman.

Alternatively take only a splash of sorc early for a few useful tricks like true-strike and the like, and then focus on monk, and then do the sorc levels in epic where they wont hurt your BAB, and will add loads of spell power on top of a potent divine martial artist. Monk being the other go to for not needing gear as much as any other warrior.

Really only option if you are getting thrown into campaigns where your weapon dependency can be a massive liability.

You pick up the henchmen really early. Just need to make it out of the prologue, which is pretty short.

That's good to know. To be honest in Neverwinter Nights i mostly played magic class as i found melee to be a drag. This round i decided to go dwarf monk so having no weapon doesn't effect. But yea spec into a archer without a bow would suck. As I said getting mid/light armor is easy. Do like when you take the guards armor they made the module naked. That's a nice touch.
I just bought it. I'm gonna run through the Main Campaign to refresh my memory so I can port over my character.

Congratulations.

It is very difficult. Currently stuck and thinking of re-rolling some melee power build. Cuz while the enemies have very powerful melee your henchman? Not so much...

I'm using a Wizard, and it's working really well. Keen Edge, Flame Weapon, and Stoneskin on the companions makes a world of difference, and they've got my Panther familiar or Animate Dead skeleton as backup. Flamebrand is putting in work, too. It's been quite easy on Very Difficult.

It is unfortunate we didn't get a Fighter or Paladin in Targos (unless I missed them), though.

which means there is really no point in playing all the way through WD unless you want to since completing WD shove you close to if not over 20.
WD generally gets you to 15-17.
