If your computer is turning off, I would guess a major hardware failure somewhere in your computer.
It keeps wanting to reinstall? Maybe check the health of your hard drive?

Can you play other games on your system?

gpu or cpu might be getting too hot
oldrocker99 17 JUL 2021 a las 10:43
Unless your PC is new, check the dust inside the case, especially heat sink fins.
MeanOldWarthog 17 JUL 2021 a las 11:38
yeah all other games play fine, The computer was put together by myself around 1 month ago so dust in casings etc isnt there, All fans are on ok. PSU, CPU etc are all well above spec required.

Has to be either a hardware or OS/driver issue. Applications can't just shut down your system without going through the OS, which should at least give you an "are you sure?" prompt if working correctly.

yeah i'm certain it is a hardware fault but i have no idea what like i said the computer is all new fro the CPU to the memory and PSU, Its all well overspec for the game too. Any ideas on how to diagnose it?
allenayen96 17 JUL 2021 a las 13:51
I would run a scan for a virus. just to be on the safe side.

Viruses cannot shut off the computer like a switch. Even crashing the OS you'll still get an error message from the motherboard telling you of a critical fault in a program and the computer needs to turn off. If the computer suddenly shuts off it is 100% a hardware issue. The most likely cause is overheating GPU/CPU but barring that it could be a faulty power supply (though this is unlikely to be triggered by opening a program, it would be more random). My guess is the computer is warming up as it starts the game and right about the time OP hits the main menu is when it gets too hot and shuts off.

Might want to try running checkdisk with repair, to see if there's a bad sector on your storage.
soltan-heatwave 17 JUL 2021 a las 20:53
Also as mentioned by Tesseract you could also check on your drivers to make sure they are all up to date. Sometimes, the new things you buy have older drivers on them that haven't been updated since they were boxed. You need to check them to see if they need updated.

ran chkdsk and all come back clear on every drive.

Think it may be CPU overheating but not sure how to rectify this?
n00bdragon 18 JUL 2021 a las 6:39
1. Check for/remove dust
2. Download something like HWMonitor and check your CPU temperatures at various loads
3. Replace your heat sink
4. Add fans
5. Relocate your PC to a cooler/more ventilated space

if its a hot cpu you may need a new cooler and need to apply new thermal paste, id also investigate your power supply
