Lore question: Timeline of Hordes of the Underdark is right?
I'm playing HotU atm and in ch2 i see a very strange scenario:

Lolth is missing, the self entitled Valsharess that is the apparent main enemy made a deal with an arch demon, and drows loyal to Lolth ally themselfves with followers of Elistraee to make a joint force to face the Valsharess .

Apart of the absurd scenario above described, the only reason that could justify so much contradictory elements was if the timeline of Hordes of the Underdark happened during the time of troubles (1358 DR), but HotU happens 12 years after the time of troubles (1372 DR) and the Silence of Lolth event ended in 1373 DR.

The events that happen at HotU timeline is the Reckoning, but that's a hell plot. There's some chess game between the Drow panteon in 1.378, but Lolth is actively playing against Elistraee, which make the alliance of chapter 2 a bit... out of place? Elistraee even died 1 year after the events of HotU in 1379 DR.

So, anyone can shed some light in this whole mess?

Yeah, you're going to get a headache trying to reconcile official realmslore with a lot of licensed products. HotU is supposed to happen sometime in 1372 during the Silence of Lolth.

A lot of the story lines are like this. Many writers barely collaborate with WoTC when creating campaigns. Especially back in the day.

As it so often is, the Mystery Science Theater 3000 theme song is instructive here:

"If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts
Just repeat to yourself, 'It's just a show
I should really just relax'"

It's not bro, it's a piece of a bigger work: Dungeon's & Dragons.

If ppl follow this statement always, the franchise would start it's mediocre age (no offense here, just stating the truth).
