Piss poor community of hard headed pompous know nothings stuck in a loop of mental retardation. These people are so unbending and stuck with their stupidity that they told me it was a good thing for "server pvp balance" for players to be over encumbered with quest items that they can't drop or get rid of.

When I started playing I made a dexterity based archer with very low strength. I picked up this quest and was hit with a encumbering load of quest items which reduced my speed. Mind you I have no idea where to dispose of these items to complete the quest and unburden myself. You can't just drop these items and pick up the quest later either.

The DM's on the discord basically didn't care and said oh just use the map on the wiki that we have. So anyway, I stayed long enough to get over that debacle and when I made it to about level 20 on a strength based two hander monk build. The only area I could level at was basically not possible. So I went on the discord again and was like "hey dude these areas are too powerful for the build i'm making maybe you should re-balance it so that everybody can level up on any build". Instead of acknowledging that their was a design flaw with the PVE they went on to tell me how much I sucked at the game and that I should of known to use a tower shield and full plate on my 2h scyther build in order to do it.

Even after I switched gear it still wasn't doable without a party because every time you die you have to pay 9,000 gold, which you don't have, just to get back there. It takes a good 15 minutes of walking through 10 gigantic sh*t maps with no haste to do it because of course haste isn't on items for "pvp balance". I've played plenty of better pvp servers that have haste with a wider variety of viable builds.

I was embarrased for them when they said "this server has been around 14 years". Because after 14 years they still haven't worked out that it needs to be fixed. Their development team is either lazy, stupid, incompetent, or all three. I'm leaning towards all 3 because I don't think they could fix it even if they wanted to. That's why they argue with you to keep encumberance from quests instead of admitting that they can't fix it.

This isn't the 1st time i've encountered this same group of people. They go from server to server and decide "it needs balance" then when they "balance it", everybody leaves because it's sh*t. They did it to 2 servers already Dungeon X & Badlands. Now this place is next on the bucket list apparantly. Balance for them means choosing which builds will work in toolset mode, and those builds tend to be the most air headed town bicycle melee builds played since the game came out, such as 11 fighter 28 wm 1 rogue. They always nerf arcane casters into the ground and attempt to turn NWN into a poorly done version of WoW where you choose between Healer, Melee, and Tank. Their really is no tank though in pvp on NWN because their is no such thing as aggro. So it's basically healer, melee, sneaker, and ranged.

What bothers me most is that they think they're some grandiose gamers who understand this game when they never had to figure out how to put spells like true seeing into their build because they nerfed their weaknesses instead. Everything is pure bonus melee low magic trash that requires absolutely no skill or thought in charachter design. It's about who can get the highest AB, AC, Disc, Spot/Hide. I enjoyed playing builds like 16 bard 14 cleric 10 rdd to wipe the floor with people. Builds like that don't work here. Even mages are gimped to the extreme. They swear on their life that they're not though, and that they're actually super overpowered instead, which agitates me even more.

If you could imagine a episode of pinky and the brain where pinky beat the brain over the head with a rock and then started making his own decisions, that's what this is. Idiots with no common sense whatsoever write the code for this game. They even managed to downgrade the vanilla nwn buy and sell system. I've never seen so much work done to something just to downgrade it. If you're gonna change something make a improvement on it. it takes like 20 mins to clear your inventory. Everything on here is done in a way to waste unescescary amounts of time on trivial things like buying and selling gear, Doing quests on gigantic maps without haste, and more.

It's one thing to not know what the problem is and it's a whole other thing to know what the problem is and not fix it because "you're in charge and it's your game". I wasn't trying to rain on anyones parade but when I brought these issues to their attention I was generally treated badly by some of the players to the point where they were hunting my charachter down to kill me. That's the reason i'm writing this scathing review. It's not because i'm such a A$$hole that i found a game I didn't like and decided I should trash it. It's because these people deserve to be trashed for their inability to see reason. It's so easy to write a scathing review when all you have to do is tell the truth.

I got it "it's your game and you're in charge" so dry up and blow away when everybody leaves.

It's about keeping people from leveling up by killing their charachter, encumbering them with quest items, and making builds which they don't like have a hard time leveling in general. "Balance". Without trying to bullet point every item, I will just say (as one of the devs and longtime players at NS4) that this player was offered honest help from myself and other members of the server community on our discord channel. He immediately introduced himself with abrasive comments and refusal to accept help, only to insist that changes were required based on his input, and he then proceeded to trash the devs & players, both on discord & in-game shout, as well as through discord private messaging. Ultimately, he was given notice that his behavior was unacceptable, but was not banned from the game server, nor the discord channel. His response went from an almost-apology, where he conceded he was dealing with some issues, but then escalated to a threat to publicly trash the server if we did not concede to his requested changes, which led to his post here.

He is welcome to return to NS4 with a change in attitude and behavior.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with giving feedback to the server but when it gets to the point where you want specific things to revolve around you thats the tipping point.

If you played a game like WoW and you couldn't level up past a certain point without some secret hidden way that the admin put in the game and still couldn't level up after they told you about it you would get a refund and their would be a class action lawsuit on the game.

Total lie I literally took your stupid advice on how to level at the sunken place and still couldn't do it. Also, it's not the players job to work around your stupid mechanics like being encumbered with quest items they can't drop. When you present these people with a legitimate server issue they give you every solution in the book that involves them doing nothing about it. They put the problem on the player charachter to be solved instead of fixing it themselfs. And how am I trashing the server if i'm just telling the truth? You mean you're actually embarrased and don't want it posted on here but you wont change it? How did I trash the server by telling the truth about it? Like I said you all deserve to be trashed. I was nice about it for a while until you all started saying sh*t like "you suck if you can't figure out how to work around being encumbered from quests".

Their is no subscription for this game. Maybe their should be because then they would be required to have standards.

They act like this servers never been modified for the duration of it's existence yet they find the time to add in "chuck the purist builds" so they can choose which builds work and which ones dont. They're the entitled ones not me. This is a game where these losers sit around and modify the server to their special needs so they can never lose and then tell everybody else how much they suck at the game. FOR EXAMPLE: They added Dev Crit in the game because their 11 ftr 1 rogue 28 wm got sh*t on by some OG player on a dexer. I'm not gonna participate in Eric Cartman's amusement park where nobody else can go on any of the rides. Leave the server and let their narcisisitic supply evaporate until they start eating eachother.

I've played and beat way harder games than anything on NWN the list includes 100 percenting Sekiro, beating all the souls games, beating all the armored core games, beating Xenocrisis solo on hard, Elden Ring, Nearly all the HALO games on legendary, Nearly all the COD games on Veteran, and other. This game however is not "hard" they confused difficulty and skill with hiding a secret game mechanic in their pocket and not telling anybody about it. Then they rag on you for not knowing about their little secret way of getting through the game.
