Ability Buffing Spells and Items not Working

Like the titles says items like the gauntlets of ogre power, spells, and potions are not doing anything. I tired uninstall and reinstalling, removed all the workshop stuff, and validated all the files . I have made multiple characters and they are all doing it, please help this game is really not fun when now of that works.

Are you sure you aren't getting a bonus from another item? You only get the highest bonus from two items with the same property.

Spells and potions will not stack. Some items will stack while some will not. Potion of Bull Strength or spell 'Bull Strength' will stack with Belt of Strength. Ring of Protection will not stack with Clock of Protection etc

Gauntlets of ogre power will stack with girdles of giant strength, and I think with potions of bull strength and dodge bonus items stack but almost nothing else does. Deflection bonuses do not stack but such items have to be equipped not just toted about in your inventory. For instance you have a sword that gives a strength bonus and a bow that gives a dex bonus. Only one of those bonuses apply at a time the one attached to the weapon you are currently using.

this isn't true for neverwinter nights 1, stats will stack to +12

By NWN 1 do you mean this EE game or are you talking about the original release? Because it definitely isn't true for this game. Certain bonuses stack, but stat bonuses don't.

Please see what I already said. Stats stack well into the 20's for NWN including all EE's Dodge bonuses also stack. But very little else does. And everything must be equipped to the appropriate slot on the inventory screen in order to function. Not including quick slots.

Armor stats will not stack. Ability and skill stats often will. Potions will not stack with spells, Potions OR spells will stack items. Dodge will stack.

Okay, guys I have been playing this game since it came out on disc back in the 2000's I know how the mechanics work thanks for the explanation but they are not necessary. I literally just equipped a orge gauntlets with no other buffs going and nothing changes, other magic items and magic items properties seem to be working.

Now that is a problem and one I have never seen. I have but two possible answers, The first would be a mod going rogue the second would be that you are some how or the other already a max strength for that character class and race. And I am not even sure the second is possible,
