Verify where your Documents folder actually points to:
-Right-click on Documents in File Explorer
-Select "Properties"
-Check the "Location" tab to see if it's pointing to the correct place
-If it's redirected to OneDrive, click Restore Default and apply
Check if OneDrive is actually affecting your Documents folder even if empty:
-Open Windows Settings
-Search for "OneDrive"
-Click "Unlink this PC" temporarily as a test
-Restart your PC
-Try running the game again
Try running the game as Admin (nwmain.exe)
Logged in for onedrive and unlinked it, restarted PC and tried running the game but still nothing.
Made the game launch with admin each time and still nothing.
This is more than likely your problem. Win 11 is a joke when it comes to gaming. Have no idea why anyone would have it on their computer.
1. System File Checker (SFC): Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
sfc /scannow
Let it complete; it might take some time. Restart your PC after.
2. (DISM): Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
restart your PC afterward.
3. Create a new user account on your Windows 11 system. Log into that account and try installing Neverwinter Nights from scratch.
Throw Windows in the trash where it belongs; install Linux Mint (or similar). Most Windows games work great on Linux through Steam Proton.
(I know that this game has a native Linux version, but in my experience Steam Proton usually works better anyway in the vast majority of cases.)
