Continual Flame Removal

How do you get rid of it? I put it on a friend and it says it can be dispelled in the description but apparently it's not. Is there a console command or something to get rid of it? Is it attached to a specific piece of gear that can be replaced?

Offhand I would try Dispel Magic or Greater Dispelling
BTW ; Continual Flame does NOT go away.

There is even the occasional tooltip at the bottom of the load screen that says, "If you cast Continual Flame on an item, it will glow brightly forever." That happens to be a good way to make extra gold when selling an item you no longer wish to use, as applying the spell to that item will increase its value to a merchant.

Don't worry, you'll be changing weapons quite frequently. But yeah, if something says it's "permanent", it's definitely permanent. At least I don't recall any exceptions off the top of my head, but this ain't one of them.

We couldn't find any item that said it had it on it but we figured it out. Death removes it -_-

Hmm I didn't realize it could be attached to the model itself, I had assumed it always got attached to a piece of the models gear when you cast it on them. Interesting.

That must surely be a bug. If not even Mordenkainen's Disjunction can ever get rid of it, that makes this more persistent than artifact-level enchantments. XD

It says in the description it can be dispelled but it actually can't.

old bug, older than enhanced edition, there are workarounds that i cant really remember, i think i used to equip and then equip something else and take it off etc if it were on an item to eventually make it go away

also i seem to remember if it got stuck on me to remove the item and then logging from server to rejoin and be dark again
