Ossian Studios Modules Progression/Character Import (SoS>CToT>TotM)
I am currently about to finish playing my first ever module (Against the Cult of the Reptile God), and I'm looking at my next adventure! I think I am planning to go for the Ossian Studios modules trilogy (Siege of Shadowdale, then Crimson Tides of Tethyr, and then Tyrants of the Moonsea - hopefully it goes on sale soon), but I'm wondering whether I should be playing the same character throughout - export my SoS character into CToT and so on.

Would that make the modules too easy because of loot accumulation? I know the stories are self-contained but somewhat related, so I thought it'd be neat to have the same character and progression from one module to the other, but I also don't want to make the later adventures too easy and boring. (I am planning on playing on Hardcore difficulty.)

I think they are meant to be played with the same character. Though truth be told, I haven't tried playing through the whole trilogy in a row yet, but when I played TotM with my character exported from CToT (still non-EE version at the time), I did end up pretty overpowered and most combat became trivial.

But I fear you won't really be able to offset this by creating a new PC, because (at least in TotM) loot accumulation even within the module itself is insane. If you play it with a fresh character, the start will be more difficult, but opponents drop such an amount of high magic items that you will catch up to your old character in no time. I don't really have a clue on how to fix this ...

I played all 3 modules with one character and the loot from the previous module never felt too powerful for the next one.
