8 classes isn't a big problem (because everyone looks the same at that point since everyone can take everything). But somewhere 4..5 classes? Yep, that changes a lot.
It would be interesting to hear if there are evidence-based cases of mods breaking under 8193.35 - not aware of any so far.
Someone has checked if the new update works fine and gives no problems with old modules, haks, saved characters ,etc.? I am talking especifically about the happy idea of the 8 multiclasses (?!) and such... I`m weary to install the patch yet.
Thanks
Thanks for the answer. I am the contrary; my main interest in this game is to create modules. More especifically, I had one in the oven for years, and I´m going to finish it (at last) this summer that I will have the time for it. So I am a little weary to patch just in case the patch cause some problem... When I read about 8 multiclasses I think "What the..?"
Damn. I knew it. Thanks goodness that I didnt patch. My module has nearly 1GB of custom content and I am working on it since 2011. Pefect, Beamdog, simply perfect.
I think that you can revert the patch going to "properties" of the game and select the appropiate beta...
ive had to revert using the GFF editor technique. you can open a module using.hak editor and grabbing the module.ifo. then revert backwards to "1.86" instead of "1.87" under its mod_MinGameVer. Then save the module.ifo in an older version of your module.
If you updated everything, itll screw you over.
My God... Incredible. Simply incredible. Until now I`ve got to avoid the patch simply using steam in offline mode (in another PC, because the good steam will install the patch you want it or not if you are not careful. You cannot choose not install)... But sooner or later I will have to face damnation.
it's not that bad really. if youre careful you can revert back without saving your module under the new patch. it sounds like you did better than me and not use the GFF technique lol.
Personally getting a Toon Shader and 8 new multiclass feature just isnt realyl worth it right now.
Ok, thanks! So, if I dont save a module under the new patch, I could revert back my game to the previous version (doing this thing of "properties", later choose beta, etc) without any major damage? But damn anyway... About saved characters, and importing; no problem there?
Another thing, if you dont mind; I am thinking in buying from beamdog directly or GOG and play with this versions of the game. They will be compatible with the version we were using the last year (and I`m still using, thanks God) in steam?
Thank you
