Hello every!

I wanted to let you guys know that both mods have had a lot of bug fixes and updates done along with some hidden changes in the mods themselves. Our thanks to the community for the ongoing support over the years, we deeply appreciate it.

The new versions and changes are as follows. Warning, you must start a new game to use these updates. The new versions can be downloaded in the game on the community tab. Click Manage to update to the latest version.

Eye of the Beholder II - Legend of Darkmoon – V. 3.5.1

*** These are the latest updated modules. Chrome and colors are now fixed and displaying correctly on all armor and cloaks. ***

Hello all, here is the new patch we have been working on for a while along with some community requested features. Many changes have been done to the scripts fixing some timing issues and other issues related to misfiring scripts. Some of the issue are related to the players and having latency issues while playing that could cause a script to not trigger correctly.

This was notice especially on some of the transitioning levels where a cut scene would be triggered by the player and not all of the clients were loaded in yet. A new Pre-Transition area has been added to resolve that issue. Many grammar issues have been changed and some new dialog has been updated on some of the cut scenes to try and make it feel more natural.

Also added a few new surprises in the levels and updated changes to the environments and small bug fixes.

Bug fixes - Eye of the Beholder
- Cleaned up many dialog conversations. Grammar errors and added more dialog for
certain NPC’s

- Changed how many Henchmen you can now take on your journey from 2 to 3.

- Level 7 - Upper Reaches of the Drow – Central, Fixed the cut scene here that would
sometimes bug out because of lag from the level transition and cause the scene to
not fire off. A new pre-transition area was added to correct the timing of the scene
and to allow all party members time to spawn in.

- Changed most of the cut Scenes to now start up opening a door instead of the
trigger. This was done because of a known issue with the camera. If you were
rotating the camera when the script triggers, your camera would become locked and
the camera would go into a non-stop spin until the cut scene is over. This change was
done on both Eye I and Eye 2.

We did try to fix it, but nothing we did worked. It has been reported to Beamdog as a
bug.

- Changed the tile look on the Sewers Level 3. In the Statue Room.

- Adjusted some items on tables or altars that were not reachable to the player.

- Fixed the Gem Gollum’s on level 12 that were not activating on some encounters.

- Mainly many script changes to fix how the pressure plates react to weight on them
that were causing some issues with the script breaking if the player interacted with
the plates incorrectly.


**** Bug fixes - Eye of the Beholder II Legend of Darkmoon ***

- Fixed an issue with the Intro Cut Scene where the NPC into would turn and try to
reopen the door when she enters the room. This has been fixed.

- Cleaned up many dialog conversations. Grammar errors and added more dialog for
certain NPC’s

- Catacombs - Level 3 - South - Weary Traveler, Pressure plate puzzle has been fixed,
was causing the last weighted plate to not detect weight correctly and would not
open the door.

- Fixed an issue with Shorn, the hired Cleric in EOB 2. He was missing his Martial Feat
that was preventing him from using his personalized Holy Hammer.

- Add a new Henchmen to the game, he was a fan favorite who has been requested
many times. See if you all can find him!

- Changed how many Henchmen you can now take on your journey from 2 to 3.

- Fixed the 2 Merchant’s in the Darkmoon Forest. The script that triggers their market
Store to change after leaving the Catacombs would sometime not trigger correctly
and cause only one of the merchants markets to work. This has been fixed!

- Fixed an issue where the Front Giant King would sometimes not drop the Key.

- Final battle with Dran, he now teleports around the room making the encounter more
challenging as he attacks and moves.

- Cleaned up some of the fog effects, changed them from all the smaller ones to the
much larger effects covering an area. Helps to reduce lag in the area.

- Fixed the Mark of Darkmoon, where it would sometimes bug out and not give the
player the mark. It now gives all players the mark. Also added a warning dialog that
the entire party is about to be teleported.

- Mainly many script changes to fix how the pressure plates react to weight on them
that were causing some issues with the script breaking if the player interacted with
the plates incorrectly.

- Also added a few new surprises in the levels and updated changes to the
environments and small bug fixes and some dialog updates.

Here is a link to the special Clue Books that a community member worked on in his own time. These new Clue books are for these mods. Very detailed, he did a great job on these and put in a lot of work making these. so a very special thanks to JLicharson for all of his hard work. These can be downloaded as PDF files.

I would like to try your mod, but when I search for Eye of the Beholder in the Workshop all that comes up is a spanish edition. How do I find this mod?

Its not in the workshop, its built into the game now as I explained in my comment.

go to the community tab within the game. you will find it there.

First off all, thank you for your work and bringing out this update!

I just started replaying EoB II (my favorite in the series) with this update and found a single bug so far. This is with a fresh save mind you. The female shop keeper (forgot her name) stops working after sometime you find the 4 winds. I talk to her, she turns to me but no dialogue is shown. Maybe the aggro'ed wolves somehow glitched her out? I also if remember correctly, after some progression event the shop would update and sell new items. But I have reached the Azure tower and the inventory has stayed the same. I have finished both the quests you get at the start.

Other than that everything is going smoothly. I have just reached the Azure tower. Maybe because it's not my first time playing but I did notice that it's noticeable easier to find all the required keys/items. Before I would have to backtrack quite a lot and loot corpses just to find that I have missed something. So that's a huge improvement for me.

Hi Aleks, Thank you for pointing this out. Ill have to do some digging and see what might be causing this.

I suspect it has something to do with after you come out of the Catacombs, the Vendors shop inventories change. it must be bugging out there.


Just to be clear, this is with the new 3.0 ver you are playing?

yes I am playing 3.0 with a fresh character and save. Also the male vendor keeps working but the inventory doesn't change.

Hi Dark,

Thanks for the update, looking forward to trying the new version! Is the updated version going to make its way to the vault too? While I do love nwsync for convenience, my group often plays modules with other custom content injected into the modules, working with discreet mod + hak files is a bit less troublesome to work with and upload to a dedicated server.

Yes it is, but I'm not going to upload it just yet because of the issue with the vendor that was reported. I need to flush that one out. its been a thorn in my side for a while now. just when we thought we had it figured out it crops its ugly head again.

Sweet, thanks for the update!!

Id like to hear back on your experience, especially the end boss fight, how that went for you and what you thought about it.

Started yesterday EotB on Very Hard difficulty. It looks like Mimics' acid now deal proper amount of damage now... I kind of lost 60 HP in 20 seconds. Dof died three times...

Actually, forgot to mention, that in EotB, Longsword +1 is on the floor instead of being on the table in Neibin room. This make it almost impossible to take.

Yeah, the placement of items on tables is really bad how it works in NWN. Its a chore just to get them on a table and them to be able to grab that items. it has to be placed in a specific way or it can be a big issue. Ill look at it. but not really to worried about an non essential item.
