Eye of the Beholder 1 - stuck in Corrections Facility

So I am having a great time hacking and slashing my way through this module, and now suddenly I've gotten stuck. I have cleared everything I can find and completed every sidequest. Now I have made my back from the Ancient Dungeon into the Corrections Facility, and there is a door just outside where Khelben Blackstaff appeared, and I cannot unlock it. Does it require a specific key? It doesn't give any hints. There is a floor lever nearby that does nothing. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

Yes, you should see a lever there to pull that opens the door. please look again.

Thanks, but for some reason that lever does not do anything. Any ideas on how to get that to work?

Yes it does, it removes the wall on the right side of the area. the door on the left side cannot be opened from where you are. You have to enter into that area from the other entrance on the 2nd level. There are two ways to get into where you are. you only found the one entrance.

Thanks to Shiori Ren's video I was able to figure out the issue (somewhat) and move beyond it.

What seems to have happened is that I had already moved the wall to the left, because I had entered that area in a different way, I think maybe by falling through a pit trap, and then doing something else to remove the wall. So when I came back around, the lever had already been activated, and so didn't do anything.

In my case what I needed to do was backtrack to the second level and proceed to the area that was now open to explore. I did that and now am almost all the way through level 3 :)
