What's an interesting MC to play in the Wailing Death campaign?
Like, what class/race would you think it'll be most fun to play? I usually play paladins/good clerics, but was wondering if there's something more fun to use. I'm not using the Player Resource Consortium, I play mostly vanilla.

Clerics are good all rounders and solid choices. Maybe play the opposite end of the spectrum. Go with an evil aligned rogue and go for Assassin/ShadowDancer (means you can take a different companion than Tomi everywhere for the traps and locks. Evil companion monk is also hilarious).
Maybe go monk yourself and simply punch everything without any need for armor. I've played through the entirety of HotU with a monk simply wearing the haste robes before.
Become a caster. Due to its structure, Sorcerers are better in game than Wizards (who are better in TT for their adaptability. Most solutions in NwN are of the type of 'throw fireballs until it stops getting up' type).
Or just ask yourself "What would be fun for ME to play?" Half the fun of the game is to make some harebrained character concept and trying to make it work. Which generally isn't too difficult in the OC, since it's much easier than the other two.

Druid/shifter/monk multi class. Sure you don't get to epic levels and forms in the wailing death but its a fun thing even if the ab suffers somewhat.

A caster is certainly the most interesting, followed probably by a shifter as the new forms gives you something to look forward to and a new play style to try every now and then. Melee is just "more of the same" for 30 levels. I recommend sorcerer if you want arcane casting. For cleric I'd probably go battle cleric and stop at 19 wis, for druid it's better to go caster build and utilize shapeshifted forms if you want to hit things. In epics you can get dragon shape with enough wisdom. If you go shifter/druid, you should strongly consider adding a level of Monk for the wis -> AC bonus.

if i remember correctly, main campaign has low INT based writing included (when MC is dum-dum and speaks in 3rd person, etc.). so, going half orc with 6 INT, whatever the class (obviously not wizard though lol) might be a hilarious experience

Nah... It would be normal barb. How about INT 6 Half-Orc Wizard.

INT 6, CHA 6, WIS 18 Half-orc sorc/wizard so you never fail a will save.

In OC you get some unique interactions if:
- You have less than 9 INT (mod -2). Your character then might start speaking in a silly way
- You play an Elf race (or any custom subrace of it). Then some key NPC might comment on that during plot moments, like Nasher

Aside from that I don't think there's any unique differences. Everything else will pretty much happen in your own mind.
