Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition

Integrating PRC and CEP into official campaigns.
I remember doing this ages ago (literally more than a decade), but I can't for the life of me figure it out now.

Has anyone had any success? The PRC is integrated (after moving some files; ez-pz), but the CEP isn't so straightforward, let along merging the two together.
Eredetileg közzétette: miller:
FYI: I have only read the original post... And, I do NOT own NWN:EE. These instructions work for me, with NWN 1.69, PRC 3.5, CEP 2.65. ...It MIGHT work for NWN:EE.

It's very much possible, and I do this all the time. I found this thread because I was wondering if there was an easier way to integrate CEP into the Official Campaign "OC". Alas, I have not found such a way other than manually adding CEP resources.

Why would someone want to do this? Because some people have characters already using resources from these two excellent HAK packs (CEP/PRC), and they wish to use these characters in the OC (because lets face it, the official campaign is pretty good).

Being this post is a few years old (Happy New Years everyone!), I am posting, in case this helps others. This is the gist of what needs to be done:

  1. Install/Extract CEP

  2. Install/Extract the PRC/CEP Merg hak. Which is available from NWN Vault: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/combined/cep-265-prc-35-merge-hak-and-tlk

  3. Run the PRC installer, and select any/all the OC modules you wish to modify. Allow PRC to make backups (it's just a good idea). ~This, is basically what I wish CEP had~

  4. Copy all the OC NWN modules (the modules which were just modified by the PRC installer), into the NWN/modules folder. You will need to rename the suffix of these files from *.nwm to *.mod. Also, you will need to make these files writable (by default they are read-only).

  5. Using the Aurora Toolset, open one of the chapters (preludes including) from the NWN/modules folder, and add the PRC/CEP Merge HAK, and the CEP HAK files. You can do this by clicking: Edit, Module Properties, Custom Content. Using the drop down box, add the following CEP files to the already established list created by the PRC installer, in the following order (if you do NOT see any PRC HAKs, STOP. And figure out when went wrong with the above steps):

    prcccc3 <--- CEP/PRC Merge HAK. Be sure to add this one at the top! prc_2das prc_scripts prc_newspellbook prc_spells prc_epicspells prc_psionics prc_race prc_texture prc_misc prc_craft2das cep2_add_phenos2 cep2_add_phenos1 cep2_add_sb_v1 cep2_core5 cep2_core4 cep2_core3 cep2_core2 cep2_core1

  6. From the same menu, change the Custom Tlk File
    prc_consortium
    to
    prccep2

Once complete, click OK, have a beer (or two, christ sakes this takes a while)... You'll eventually be presented with a finished screen (see my *Note below). Click Done, save the module, and copy that modified file back into the main nwm directory. Note: you will also need to change the file suffix back to *.nwm

*Note: I have found you can click 'Cancel' while it re-builds the module... but I am not sure if that is 100% legit. Seems to work... but if you're after stability, perhaps it's best to let it complete.

Rinse and repeat steps 5 & 6 for each OC module/chapter.

Not knowing exactly what portion of the CEP _you_ want, your list may differ. I grabbed this list from my custom working CEP/PRC Pretty Good Character Creator [neverwintervault.org]
(install the pgc3_v43_cep2.zip version, and run the PRC installer on it, and basically do all the things to this module, that we are doing to the OC modules). So I figure, the above list is the bare minimum. I also highly recommend this module for all your character creation needs. However, and this is getting a little side tracked, if you want a level 1 Psion or other PRC-only character (without having to dual class), you're going to need the PRC Character generator[neverwintervault.org] instead.

Well... holly crap. I didn't know who you were until I happened re-read an old review about Valine (one of my favorite modders). Reading that old pleasant review, and seeing you listed there at the end, I had to come here and say something!

Pleasure to have... posted with you =D haha

Review [adwr.fandom.com].

A Dance with Rogues was the module that got me into modding myself. Cheers Shia Luck! And thank you for... well helping out the community!
I've been looking for that! I can't find it anywhere!

Still available on NWN Vault [neverwintervault.org]. With 800+ votes no less =D. Great story!

You're not crazy =D, it did go down a while back... but it was resurrected. Not sure how long ago though!

That's very kind of you to notice and say. :) ADwR had much the same effect on me. It is to this day, still my favourite module. (Actually, if you look at the humour section of ADwR wiki (Pia) there is what must be a reference to me as I was a prolific poster on the forums, lol. I'd love to know who wrote that!)

When ADwR won the Module of the Year 2006 the chap who did interviews for IGN Vault wasn't comfortable dealing with adult modules so there wasn't going to be an interview. Thirdpres asked the Reviewers Guild (of which I was part) to do one instead and put us in touch with Valine. QueenSilverWing, the head of RG did the interview and I trawled the Vault forums and the ADwR Guild I had set up on the old Bioboards for common fan questions so it was definitely a group effort.

Have fun :)
Nothing like running into a new issue and searching for a solution. Only to find a post of your own making. =D

But this thread made me smile, and I just had to post: Hope you all are doing well!!!
Aww.. ADWR .. I liked it a lot, it's even still installed. Though I had to mod it for myself - I really hated the fact that the MC has no way of avoiding whatever Vico does to her at the very beginning. It took a lot of effort to adjust the scripts and dialogues to account for this new plot route but it was worth it.
