How much is the GOG version right now?
Comes with cd keys...
Make double sure they can be used on NWNEE though.
A version from beamdog.com gives a CD Key, and a Steam version gives another CD Key.
How? Hoe do I use my old CD Keys? I have 3 of then listed in my NWNCDkey file.
A copy from Beamdog costs exactly the same, not 40$ (it's Digital Deluxe aka NWN:EE+DLCs) but 20$.
I bought a second Steam copy for my other PC and it came with the same CD Key numbers as the first copy. I created a seperate Steam account too. So is this a Steam problem? I should get the second copy with a different CD key, souldn't I?
Ummm nice but I don't have a second/alternate CD key. An it appears to be used when you have 2 games on one PC. I have 2 PC's each with a Steam NWN but both have the same CD key.
Do you have a direct link to Steam Customer Support? I don't have one! There customer support is really bad! Tell them some one bought two copies of NWN EE, one for each Steam account they have on sperate PC's and got the same CD Key for each game!! This sounds like a Steam problem to me! Two separate PC's, two different accounts and I got the same CD for both games!
I am now downloading the Beamdog game ... hopefull I won't have the same problem.
I do see that the NWNEE version contains only one key, while previous versions still use 3. So it seems they may not be compatible...
Trying to figure out what steam is doing here. Are they using computer specs to assign a key? I am not sure if anyone has actually bought the extra copy using the second pc or not. Doesn't seem they are using any sort of account info as people have bought it using two accounts.
Maybe just a glitch in the key assignment. Wierd... Have fun with this one Beamdog :)
I hope Beamdog have a solution to this soon.
Have fun :)
What you have to do is make a second user directory, that will contain the new CD key. You'll need a copy of nwn.ini, nwnplayer.ini and the second cdkey.ini in that folder. The shortcuts in nwn.ini have to pint to this folder.
So keys are assigned based on the windows user account that you are logging in with? So while I do have an account on my friends' computers in the same name as mine, they would be installing under their own account and so we would need do nothing? Thank you so much for the quick response. :)
Have fun :)
