Please point me to a pet build (familiar)
I simply must have a strong pet and summons to enjoy my life, can someone please point me to one?

I dint have any demands other than i want a familiar so its gona have to have sorc or wiz, so anything with strongish pet and summons would make my day, thanks in advance.

I will be playing it in Hotu campaign :night_lords:

Hello.
I like the Ice Mephit because of regen and good dexterity.

By saying you need to have a familiar, do you explicitly want to exclude having an animal companion instead? Or is it just about having many pets?

In the latter case, druid might be a good option, too. Because then you could have an animal companion, a summoned animal, AND temporarily befriend wild animals with the Animal Empathy class skill. With a henchperson added to the mix, you could have a party of up to five members, as a single player. And you could also turn into animals yourself.

Downsides: I think as a druid you need to stay neutral, strike a balance between lawfu and chaotic decisions - if you deviate too much from that you will not be able to level up anymore. And from what I hear there is a bug (in the EE?) that prevents you from attacking, the first time you turn into an animal after resting? Also, IIRC, HotU is dungeons mostly, so no idea if there will be many wild animals around. I haven't played it for a long time.

As for strongish pets, I usually pick panther (sneak attacks), dire wolf (knockdown) or bear (strength, intimidating appearance, lol).

Thanks for youre time writing this !

I wanted a familiar since i have been doing druid summoners in the past alot, and i wanted to go with a familiar as permanent pet. Also in Hotu youre mostly in tunnels and if i remember correctly some druid spells can only be casted in open air , all in all druid was a strong summoner, but now its time to get familiar with a familiar :D

Good point, that can also make it really annoying to guide a big party including massive animals, due to NWN's subpar pathfinding in tight spaces.

A pixie familiar can replace a rogue in the party, as she can pick locks and also find and disarm traps, but she wouldn't be a strongish melee fighter to tank for you.

Its true its allready getting growded, but on the other hand its growded for enemies too ;D

I let them bash my meat shields while i heal them behind and sling that sweeet sweet arcane magick!

Wizard can easily mutliclass with Cleric (Animal Domain) to abuse Summon Creature for meat shield. At the same time one can use Panther and change to whatever you prefer.

As Sorcerer, I would choose Panther till level 10-12. than change it to Pixie. Because of limited number of spells, you can't abuse Summon Creature spell, so you should probably rely Summon Shadow from Shadow Conjuration spell.
