Hall of the Sleeping Kings - Enserric

Hello. I am in the Hall of the Sleeping Kings and am having difficulties triggering the dialog with Enserric (Black Longsword). Does anyone have any guidance on this? Is there something that I have to do to trigger the conversation?

You have to be pretty damn close inside the circle on the carpet in front of the king as I recall. Also if you haven't found the secret door be prepared to have to deal with at least three of them...

Thanks for the advice. I spent a lot of time covering every bit of the area to no avail. After defeating the kings, I ended up with the sword thanking me. However, I never allowed me to change its form to a different type (specifically a shortsword that would have benefited from my DEX bonus).

If you do not talk to the sword before you take possession the dialogue option to get it to change its shape never appears.

By the way how did you take the sword I've never been able to wake the kings up with out talking to the sword first.

I could not trigger the dialog. Attacking the king was the only way to provoke a battle with them which took a few tries to win. Afterward, I could talk to sword, which invoked a thank you from the sword. However, I could not request a change to the shape/size. I had wanted a short sword so that I could apply my high dex score via weapon finesse. Oh well, it still is quite powerful.

Now that's odd. I couldn't interact with them at all without talking to the sword.

Out of Curiosity what sort of character you running?

My character is Ranger (10), Arcane Archer (5), and Wizard (1) at this time. Half-Elf

Run an Elf arcane ranger before though wizard wasn't in the mix wouldn't think that an issue though Unless something in Enserric's code makes him not talk to other wizards. That doesn't seem likely though. Was wizard your last class?

I needed the Wizard as prerequisite for the Archane Archer. If had known about the Red Dragon Class, I would have chosen Sorcerer or Bard instead. I currently have no plans to increase Wizarding with this character. Trying to focus on Archery instead.
