Neverwinter Nights 3: The Black Hound
The original plot for Baldurs' Gate 3 was scrapped way back in 2003. Now Larian is developing a brand new story for BG3. But here's an awesome idea. Instead of throwing away the original BG3 story, how about developing NWN 3 with that exact story and name it Neverwinter Nights 3: The Black Hound. For those who don't know about the black hound here's the link:

I read the story for the Black Hound, and all I can say is I'm glad Larian is making BG3. It sounds horrible... actually it sounds like they stole with both hands from the story of Death Knights of Krynn, but in the least interesting way possible. That said until they move away from 5th edition to something with a bit more meat on its bones I don't want to see anymore new D&D CRPGs.

Meh, I am just hopping we get some more good premium modules. Really enjoyed DOG and Tyrants. Also, making a proper new NWN 3 would require immense time and budget, especially if someone would try and re-create the whole ease of content creation and online play options of NWN1. It's very unlikely it will ever happen.

I am actually quite surprised at the lack of new DLC for sale with EE. Really thought we would be getting a bunch of new Premium mods to buy. Also, would love to see some conversions of recent official D&D PnP mods to NWN and for sale as DLC.

They did something similar with Dark Dreams of Furiae (commissioned module, with ties to current official D&D merchandise), and the result was not well received at all. Mostly for more specific reasons (writing, bugs, short length, more rigid game design), and not because people disliked this approach in general, but I could imagine that this case example might have dissuaded them from further pursuing this path.

Currently, they seem to be concentrating on in-game presentation of already existing and popular community modules instead, in slightly overhauled versions, via curation tab and NWSync. Less costly, less risky, admittedly also not bringing in money directly, but possibly increasing the popularity of the EE.
