NWN:EE GPU usage problems
Hi,
I've just bought a game and found some technical issues with really high GPU usage.
When I start the main menu, it jumps to more then 90% (checked in task manager) with cooling system working louder then while playing any new title. I got Lenovo laptop with Win10 and RTX2060 (no integrated graphics), I tried with disabling vsync but it didn't help. Any ideas what I can do to make the game working properly?

OP, I just ran into the same issue. Had to go into NVIDIA settings and set max frame rate to 60. My GPU was trying to push 2700+ frames per second by default while running the game. This solved the issue. NVIDIA Control Panel - Max Frame Rate - 60. Done.

There are some in-game settings for this now as well: Game Options -> Graphics -> Frame Limiter

@Tesseract saw that. It is unchecked by default. Need to check it if you prefer the in game option. :)

Had same issue with Witcher 1. Back in the day I played another game that couldn't Vsync so my old GTX 780Ti burned out, i mean it literally combusted lol

Just a nitpick, but that would be because your computer case or the graphics card had defective cooling, not because the game didn't support Vsync.

A game running without Vsync or a frame cap will simply push the card for 100% power utilization, which it is rated for. Contrary to popular belief pushing a thousand frames a second doesn't damage your card, and wear and tear will only, in the long run, cause some solder to get loose (thermal cycling causing the board to deform), or some capacitor to fail, neither of which will lead to the card combusting.
