Want to move from one PC to another

Hi,

In the next few weeks I am moving, for work, and will be staying with relatives. We have been playing NWN as a multiplayer game with me on my PC and them on theirs. However, I will be staying with them and using their second machine to play during the week on a LAN game. What, and how, do I transfer the characters I have been using so that we can play locally together without having major issues with not having the correct characters or having to start again?

It depends on how your multiplayer game is set up. If you are currently playing a Server Vault game then your character is saved with the person hosting the game. All you need to do is log into Steam with your account and your character list should populate when you log into the server. If the game is Local Vault then your character is on your machine. You'll need to navigate to your settings folder (usually in a user directory) and look in the "localvault" folder. Your character should be in there. Simply copy the file to the localvault folder on the new machine and you are good to go.

All user data should be located in [your drive]:\ User \ [Your user name on your PC] \ Documents \ Neverwinter Nights. The character files in particular are in the subfolder called localvault. To transfer these files, just copy them over to a USB stick or so and then to the same folder on your relatives' computer.

Pretty much, just copy and paste the .bic file into the new localvault on the other computer and voila

Thanks that has been really helpful. I am playing a server vault but I'm going to take a copy of the latest local vault character just in case

My computer sadly took a crap on me, and I am now having to play Neverwinter Nights on my cell phone. But when I download the steam app I cannot find my CD key, and how do I go about finding my CD keys on steam app not PC version, and transferring them to my Pocket edition?
