Tyrants of the Moonsea Bug? - Cannot travel by ship anymore
Hello,

I have been playing the Tyrants of the Moonsea module for a while now and travelling by ship. Today, after talking to Captain Freeborn and getting taken to the maproom of the Grim Traveller, I get the message "Use the door to exit" whenever I try to click on the map table. Note this is BEFORE travelling. I am now stuck in Mulmaster with no way to leave. Any fixes?

Have you tried exiting through the door and going back in to the map room?

Thanks Phantasma,

If I leave the maproom, I cannot reenter it by the door. It is locked. The only way to get back in is to speak with Captain Freeborn again, but the problem remains.

Try the following console command, but do keep a backup save of where you are now in case this messes things up longer term (meanwhile I'll try to find out what's going on)

To help identify the problem it would be great for you to...

DebugMode 1

dm_dumplocals

and target the player character (and then post a screenshot here, or let me know an email address we can get in touch with you at)

To hopefully workaround the problem..


DebugMode 1

dm_setvarint sWM_DidTravel 0

(and then click on the PC to set the variable above on the PC)

I'm having the exact same problem. It's basically halted my progress completely.

If you have any info on what journey preceded this problem appearing, I'd be happy to know (Ossian are currently investigating, but not yet been able to reproduce)

That did the trick perfectly. I'm not exactly sure what I was doing. I had completed most everything in Mulmaster... I just don't remember how I did it all and in what order. IS there something I can pull from a save game?

Don't worry about it - unless you remember the last ship journey you made, but there's no reason you should and from what I've seen it's occurring somewhat randomly anyway. Glad you're working now :-)

Just happened again. I'll use the fix again... but it was trying to travel from Thentia when it happened.

How strange... don't suppose you remember where you travelled 'from'? Or anything you may do when leaving the cabin that could be considered 'unusual' e.g. possessing a familiar, having henchmen somehow go through the door first, etc, etc. I'm sure there isn't, but any extra info would be great!

It happens every single time I try to travel by boat to another area. There does not seem to be any preconditions (and I've tried it a bunch of ways). I just have to Ctrl V the fix and use it during the game with DebugMode 1.

Same here. The fix works, but has to be done with every sea travel.

Just to double-check, is there anything you do when transitioning out of the cabin that might be considered 'unusual'? My assumption is you just move the cursor over the door and click it... do you do something different?
