PRC Server
Was taking a look at what PRC does at http://www.athasreborn.com/prc/manual/ , and some of this stuff is absolutely nuts! Alienist, "Rage Mage", and Oozemaster? Are there any PW servers that offer this? Because i'd love to see how all this awesome stuff works in action.

Not that I know of. There have also been complaints that the multiplayer is dead for this game, so it'd be difficult to find one.

Where? What complaints? The MP is alive. About 2k people play it each day in MP.

Yeah the MP is definitely alive again, and will probably become more alive as servers update for EE. Was just wondering if there was any PRC PW content yet

Can't say which threads they were but I know I saw a few people saying somewhere that MP is dead. I haven't tried it myself, since the only PW server I'd be willing to play on is still on the old 1.69 GoG edition and nobody knows when they will migrate to EE.

No, MP isn't really alive. If you bring up the server list, you only see half a dozen servers with > 5 players each. Right now there are 8 servers with 5 or more players. Thats... terrible.

The variety of servers is also mostly gone. The popular ones are mainly hardcore roleplay servers (in fact, all 8 of the servers I just mentioned are all roleplay). But even those I wouldn't consider to have a healthy population; the #1 on the list has only 13 people!

Do you know what is a popular server? Higher Ground. It didn't make the transition to EE (for reasons I don't know), and last I checked it was when EE first came out; it was running two HUNDRED people on at the same time. I don't know what it is now, but afaik its still up and running... just not with EE.

Sorry, as much as I wanted EE to succeed, it just isn't. There is no huge influx of players and new servers. Most of the servers we've got are pre-existing ones, and over time they slowly dwindle until they have only their core players left. EE didn't do much to improve that.

That's exactly the server I was referring to. The reason it didn't migrate to EE is the complexity of the server from what I heard, not sure if they don't want to anymore at all or are just doing it extremely slow. Though I haven't seen it being over 40 people in the last year or so and even that is only on weekends, meaning it passed the time when it was the most popular.

well according to http://www.nwnlist.com/ higher ground has about only 30 people spread across about 5 different servers. Not exactly 200.
Those hardcore Roleplay PWs also bring in tons of players. They have their active times and low times, but i've seen Arelith and Ravenloft with 50+ players from time to time. You just caught the server list at a bad time when a patch just came out that greyed out the most populated EE servers.

This is getting kinda off-topic anyway. I suppose there's no PRC PWs up then, whether 1.69 or EE?

HG really nosedived then, because even after EE was released, I checked it to see why it hadn't migrated. It had 200 at that time. /shrug

Nope, no server running PRC. They could barely even get it to work with the singleplayer components, and from what I understand its a ridiculously complicated process to do it. I seem to recall only ever seeing one PRC server pre-EE to begin with.

You might want to try Nordock Martial Age or Legends of Chance. Both have some really crazy features; NMA has 120 levels and custom classes earned through taking a specific combination of classes. LOC has "god levels" to continue progression above level 40, custom weaponry (not sure if thats reintroduced in the EE version yet), and some really REALLY crazy subraces.

Other than that, most servers are of the "don't run use walk because IMMERSION"-level of roleplay. :eyeroll:

ehh, not surprising. I imagine it would be quite challenging to get all that stuff to work. Then again, EE's trello board has a few things on it suggesting they're gonna make it easier for modders to make changes, so maybe it'll become more feasible at some point.

oh yeah I like Nordock. Probably one of the better action servers out there.
Also, if you're looking for an RP server that doesn't get ridiculous with it, try Blackstone Keep. It's RP-lite, meaning RP is suggested but you don't have to if you don't want to.

There is a server running with the PRC pack I used to play in a few years back, called Harrowport. Some of the most OP races and classes are banned but there is still a lot of content. It looks password protected but as their forums say you can just hit enter and you will log in. Their custom content is in the workshop.

Don't know why they decided to make it appear password protected, it's probably why I've only seen a couple of players at best. Needs some advertising.

Harrowport is amazing, great RP really friendly players. Does ANYONE know more like it? PRC is the best: psionics should have been in the main game most of these classes are easy enough if the original developers actually had the licensing rights to those classes from the other books.

Is anyone running/interested in running a action/pvp/pve type PRC server?
Fire Wraith Feb 10, 2019 @ 9:20pm
The short answer is that because of all the things needed to get all of those classes and abilities to work, the PRC pack is a huge bundle of custom scripts that largely overwrite or replicate nearly everything the game does. From what I've seen at least, it doesn't tend to scale well to multiplayer levels, and isn't really designed to do so. And beyond that, there's the whole question of balance in a multiplayer environment, whether you're talking about PVE or PVP.

That said, there are certainly a number of servers with lots of added content in terms of new classes, feats, spells, etc, that are worth checking out if you like lots of variety.
