your cd key is unauthorized

I was trying to test out an online server, i double clicked on one i wanted to join, asks for playername (used the same one i use on GOG diamond) and it tells me my cd key is unauthorized. what gives??


i changed the cdkey.ini in the documents folder to the key on my account page on beamdogs site too. Do i use the steam key or the game key on their site?? i used the game key, i figured steam key is just for download.


Also, i set my player name that i use to be the default choice, which is fine. But if i want to change it sometime, how do i bring that dialog box up again to type in a different one?? dont see an option on server page.

im on a mac if that matters.

You have to use the one from Beamdog. Under your account, should find Game Keys and the 15 digit key.

i did, that's the key i have in the ini file. off beam dogs website under account section. the one titled "game key" thats the longer one

Does it happen only on one server - or do they all say that?

You are best of filing a bug report over at Beamdog to get this looked into.

I advise not to change anything, it's not like version 1.69 anymore. Simply try to uninstall the program and then reinstall it, without changing anything and you'll see that everything will work

ill try that but the reason i changed it is because when i tried to enter join online it told me some error about the cd key. so i changed it to key on BD and it let me in to the server list but wont let me join a server

I dont think so because im not even able to get into a server in the first place, also i only had steam version ever installed. havent installed via the BD client

I can say that the key that was already in the ini file was NOT the key on BDs website under my acccount

ok it seems to be working after the fresh install. thanks for the help. Not sure why it didnt work like that the first time around before i changed the key but oh well.
