Create a Hak Pack
Hello everybody,
in ordrer to improve the personalization of my module, I want to create hak packs.

I wanted to start with something simple : customizing the portraits of few NPC. I have some difficulty, I know how to create portraits for the main game. On a module in my memories it was necessary to:
1) edit the portraits.2da file and add lines to the file.
2) use the nwhak.exe to compile your hakpacks (pictures + portraits.2da)
3) Add the file to the hak folder of nwn

my big problem ... I can't find the portraits.2da file (or any .2da file). Know where they are?

You have to export the .2da file with nwnexplorer (google it you should find it on the nwnvault)

Step #4: Haks are particular to modules. If you want to add a hak to a module you are creating that is simple enough. If you are trying to add it to the base campaign you would need to extract the campaign, add the hak to it, repackage it, and then use it. In that case it might be simpler to just use an override.

thank you very much for your help.

Izex => oh yes ! I finally found an explorernwn that works
shadown8888 => Ty but I preferred to do an extraction by myself (to understand the operation and be quickly autonomous on future versions).
n00bdragon => yes it is for my module and my users

for the steps I did like this:
1) download nwnexplorer (version 1.83 work well on my computer)
2) copy nwn_base.key to the root folder of nwnEE (\Steam\steamapps\common\Neverwinter Nights for example)
3) open nwnexplorer, select the file that interests us and export it

We can do what we want (edit the 2da file, integrate it into a hak pack etc). On NWN, we can do everything :)
