Minecraft looks like LEGO bricks. But I agree that the default faces are quite terrible. Doesn't really matter though, as IMO both games are best played zoomed out at the level of Baldur's Gate, and BG's character models don't even have faces, I think. ;)
Nwn2 in many places looks like acid green soup with insane amount of bloom. The ground is very blurry.
Nwn1 has amazing combat animation which were all scrapped in nwn2. In nwn1 character blocks individual hits with weapons which connect to each other, while in nwn2 they awkwardly dodge every hit by ducking while weapons pass through them. Whips, double-bladed weapons, double maces and so on - all gone in nwn2. Spell sound effects were better in nwn1 as well. Weapon and armor customization in nwn2 does not exist.
Basically, the level of detail in nwn1 is old school, and low poly, but has charm, while nwn2 is blurry, messy and everything glows due to insane bloom. It is said that nwn2 was made in a big hurry, and it shows.
Also in Nwn 2, there are alot of cinematic dialogues (those who are important), it's more climatic than a wall of text
Personally, I also dislike the "cinematic dialogues" in NWN2. I don't find it very climatic to see close-ups of silent puppet faces who don't move their lips while talking, and I much prefer being able to read all text at once, at my own speed.
Agreed, expect I think writing modules for NWN2 takes longer / is more difficult.
No one has mentioned the NWN2 modding community. I think the campaigns (and some persistent worlds) are vastly superior. Not sure what folks mean about lacking multiplayer, the lobby, or whatever you want to call it, has been restored thanks to some clever programmers.
The Neverwinter Vault has you covered. The graphic enhancements alone put this game into the XBox 360 domain. I suppose I am an outlier in that I prefer zooming the camera close to my character when I play.
Too bad that arena servers are dead in NWN 2 now :/
