Zombie Lords
Im down in the warrens of the crypt or whatever in Beggers Nest and I came upon a zombie lord. No matter what weapon i use against it magical or not it says my weapon is ineffective. So how do I damage a Zombie lord? THanks.

They cast Stoneskin on themselves, you should see a message stating how much damage reduction they have left when you hit them. Once you wear that down they should take damage as per a normal zombie (slashing weapons will work best, damage from piercing and bludgeoning will be reduced).

If you have problems with a spawn, a good approach is to check the creature's stats on the wiki

For this fellow: https://nwn.fandom.com/wiki/Zombie_lord

As stated by wendigo211, this creature can use spell mantle and stoneskin, each once per day, as spell-like abilities with a caster level of 9.
It will absorb up to 10 dmg per hit, until it has absorbed a total of 90 dmg.

Zombies can be taken down with ranged weapons relateively easily as they have a slow, shuffling pace called the "zombie walk". Hit and run!

and in that same area are some guys that resist many damage types a lot, so it gives you a magic club next to the first one of that type. Game gives you hints like that.

Fire on your weapon, magic, scrolls, spells, traps, ranged weapons with elemental arrows are a few ideas. He can't kill you if you keep him at range and it's not like he is fast. Don't forget your possible henchies. They have skills your character doesn't.

If you are still having issues post what character you are playing for specific advice.

Have fun :)

I’m playing as a standard Paladin. I could kite him but that would literally take hours

Paladin without Divine Might I assume or there wouldn't be a problem.

I am actually playing the OC with a friend who is new to NWN but I am a sorceress so this guy just wasn't an issue. I imagine we flame weaponed and bull's strength and walked thru him.

The cleric henchie could be useful, and while stoneskin resists 10 physical damage, you could use a weapon that does more damage to get thru it. Maybe you use a shield and sword normally but for this fight a two-hander would better penetrate the stoneskin. IIRC movement is limited where you are so if the cleric turns him you wont be getting hit.

Also, there's little things of fire in the shops, no? IDR if it goes on your weapon or it is an AoE cos we haven't had to use them but it will help. If it's an AoE make him walk thru a few to get to you while you shoot arrows at him then set the cleric on offensive.

Did you try turn undead yourself or you are too low a level? Boosting Charisma will help with that. And if you have boosted CHA don't forget to use smite evil on him. Even lay on hands will cause damage if used on him.

Or just go to another area first if Divine Might is in your feat plan?

Have fun :)
