Armor
So I asked once before about armor ratings, weights, and other stuff. Some guy was very butt-hurt.. because I mentioned 3.5, and NWN is based on 3.0

Well I dug out my 3.0 Player Handbook... and the in game armors are fairly wrong compared to the armors in the book. I have a basic understanding that... they are hard-coded to the current scores. Like breastplate having the exact same rating as chainmail. Is it possible for hard-code to be changed? If not that's ok. Just wondering. Again maybe I'm the only one who cares. There is more variety in builds available, if it was a bit closer to table top for basic weapon, and armor stats.

In the end I'm just a CNC operator. I don't code... I just push buttons.

You can change the base AC values in parts_chest.2da.

That file, placed in override, will change the Official Campaigns and some unofficial ones.

Remove from override when not required.

Unofficial campaigns that redefine that file in a hak (e.g. CEP campaigns) will be immune to that override. This is done to introduce fan-made armour models that don't exist in the OC. In that case, you would need to find the redefined version, change it, and update the hak. A global change to CEP would only have to be done once, but changing the other modules that have bespoke versions would indeed be a chore.

Thanks that's a pretty good explaination. I figured it was unlikely that Beamdog would add it as a direct patch, they've got so much else they are doing.

Its unlikely because its a specific thing you want that other people probably don't want.

not because of workload.

if you want it, do a mod as described above.
