leveling up

I haven't played the Enhanced edition i still have the original but one of the things that annoyed me was character building, you could only reach a certain level, gaining levels/experience points is so limited and restricted, probably because monsters don't re-spawn. Is this still the case in the Enhanced Edition?

Thinking of tracking down nw2 never played that one and really want to.

Depends on the module you are playing.

in the OC there were a few enemies that respawned in act 1 you could fight in the gauntlet and kill Fashi as many times as you wanted just hit the lever before his corpse fades and you can kill him again, and again.

there were other places with respawning enemies, the snow globe for example. you didn't NEED more XP than that. campaign was easy enough with the level you did reach.

SoU as I recall toward the end the enemies in the shadow wind area respawn, but you really just want to run thru it.

in HotU, well the vampires 'respawn' in act 2 and well if you can raise dead, you could kill your companions over and over for XP.

you could always export your character and replay an act if you wanted the enemies to 'respawn'

would respawn everything.

Just playing the OC ik have never reached 60 levels. after finishing all the quests, side quests and killing every monster possible i think i ca only get to level 20 by the end of the game, It would be nice to get a few more levels and a few more skills. Not playing and mods, just the basic game.

Well i'm asking about this game, out of curiosity. I haven't got nw2 yetm it's not on steam, but i have seen it on GOG

It's a glorified rerelease of the original game with some changes to bring it up to date with modern systems, but in every other aspect it's not much different from the GoG version.

NWN2 hasn't been EE yet nor has Beamdog announced any plans to do so.

but NWN2 official campaigns do generally leave you at max level or allow you to grind.

To be precise, pre-1.69 patch NWN1 allowed you to reach level 20 too in the OC. I've played it through many times, and by the end of chapter 3 or maybe the beginning of chapter 4 my character was level 20.
