your CD Key is unauthorized

Hi Guys

Used to be a long term player over on the Ravenloft Prisoners of the Mists persistent world. I have got the game itself working and downloaded all the relevant HAK paks etc but get the error message "your CD Key is unauthorized" when trying to get into the persistent world server.

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

FYI, I got this reply from the NWN-POTM forum:

"If Steam, try uninstalling NWN:EE and reinstalling it, (subscribing to the necessary ravenloft and cep packages from the workshop), to make sure that your CD key has been retrieved properly.

Do not replace your .ini files with your old NWN game, as those CD keys won't be valid for NWN:EE. Copy & pasting files is a common way people might accidentally invalidate their keys."

That advice is completely spot on. Please try deleting the CD Key .ini, and log onto Steam, and then launch the game.

Thank you!!! I completely deleted the game then completely re-istalled... so I just delete the .ini file and re-launch?

I deleted the cdkey.ini file (moved it to another harddrive section that is) - same error (file wasn't recreated). I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game - no cdkey.ini file was created. What is wrong here???

Actually I found the error - I start steam with admin rights so I had to delete the file in the admin account's directory, not my user directory ...
