Achievements are triggered by scripts in the campaign modules AIUI, so as long as those scripts are not removed or modified in a way that breaks them, achievements should still be awarded.
Anyway, that hack was very useful for zooming out more or for making screenshots from up close or even first person perspective, but personally I found it impractical to play NWN from a close perspective, the game isn't really made for it; FPS or up close TPS may look nice, but the game controls much better from a distanced, slightly top down view, IMO.
