NWN: EE crashing at startup

Windows 10, steam version (obv).

I have submitted a ticket to beamdog's support site, including crash logs, but have had no response since posting 5 days or so ago. It appears that several other people are having the same problem. Is anyone looking into this? I was looking forward to some multiplayer D&D on Steam, but now it appears I should have stuck with GOG for this game.

If there is no response before my 2 weeks are up, I'm going to have to get a refund, no sense paying for something I can't play.

Edit: Yes I have searched for possible solutions for this, and have all drivers updated, verified files, made sure to whitelist in AV software, uninstalled & reinstalled. If anyone else has any solutions or workarounds let me know please!

Have you tried turning off (disabling) anti-virus, disabling your internet (to be safe with your AV down) and running the game in off-line mode?

I have the same problem too -nwmain crsh at startup - is see very short a black screen, then crash
driver all new - restart, new installation NWN.INI deleted
problem persists

- all virus defender deaktivated
- steam with administrator rights started
- all ok
