What goes well with Fighter?
Well, the title says it all. I'm playing a fighter because that was the only class I really got into when I played this like 15 years ago but I never tried multiclassing. What class would go well to multiclass a fighter? I didn't care for spellcasting much as a main class.

Fighter/Thief is good. Fighter/Cleric is devastating, you do spellcasting but you just buff the character and it is a tank.

Everything goes well with Fighter.

cleric goes well because you don't have to have someone following you around healing you

alternatively thief so you can cloak and then use a big weapon
Nearly everything goes well with Fighter (2) because you get 2 Feats for a 2 level tax. Even Fighter (4) is often decent (3 Feats for 2 levels).

So cleric seems to be getting a lot of good vibes. Should i stop fighter at level 4 and just work on cleric from there?

better to work cleric to 16 and get your 4 fighter levels at the end, or if you've started with fighter, gain your 4th fighter level when you BAB is at lest 6 so you can pick up a weapon specialisation feat.

Well OP said didn't like spellcasting but fighter/cleric spellcasting is mostly buff for combat. Ranger and Paladin aren't really as useful to me, maybe somebody likes the fighter/ranger? There are also prestige classes. Fighter/Druid works well too, but Fighter/Barbairan? You can do it, but not sure why.

Others have covered it pretty well here, Fighter is a very versatile class. Take a look here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/NWN-Players/discussions/1/
...for some ideas.

Cleric is excellent to multiclass with fighter but unless you have the wisdom to cast the spells its useless.

Weapon master is the standard go to standard prestige class for fighter but requires a bunch of feats that mean you need 13 int and 13 dodge to get.

Rogue is nice for the tumble for extra AC and rogue type stuff.

If you want an interesting route, you can try Fighter(5) >Weapon Master(7 levels) > ShadowDancer . Quite a fun build

Don't see the point of Shadowdancer on this at all, but whatever floats your boat!

I am aware of that - just don't see what it brings to the build, it will only slow you down. HIPS isn't really going to be a good use of a class slot on a character like this.
Fighter/Cleric/Champion of Torm at level 40 is godly. I can't remember the combo I had 13 years ago, but I think it was something like 10 Fighter / 20 Cleric / 10 CoT.
