How do I open the console?

Hi,
I am trying to open up the console. As I understand, I don't need to edit any .ini files for that, just hit the tilde key which presumably is ^ on my german layout. But there is no console brought up with that. What am I doing wrong?

You're looking for the tilde symbol which should be like a wavy line.
Try the key next to the Umlou U or the key next to the ? mark.

Should be one of those I think.

Type '~' followed by 'DebugMode 1' That works for me.

Yeah, didn't work either.
I found out that I can just enter the commands into the normal chat box, when you put '##' before the commands. Like ##DebugMode 1 and Enter.

The tilde key is a pain because it doesn't exist on every keyboard. The ## chat method is universal.
