THe workshop will become expanded with many of the old modules and such. and you wont have to jump trhrough as many hoops to get the game to work.
Also some of the older servers from the 1.69 have migrated, so essenitally, you will need this version to play the ones that migrate. (Arelith being one of the big ones)
Yes. The EE still contains all the camapaigns and Premium Modules that came with NWN Diamond (NWN, Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, Kingmaker, Shadow Guard, Witch's Wake).
The separate DLCs are either those that were sold separately back then as well and online only, but then ended up in licensing hell so that they were not available for purchase for Diamond owners anymore (Wyvern Crown of Cormyr, Pirates of the Sword Coast, Infinite Dungeons), or they are previously cancelled Premium Modules that are still available in outdated but fully playable version for free for the Diamond Edition but received an overhaul and were enhanced with new contents, new tilesets, etc. for the EE (Darkness Over Daggerford, Tyrants of the Monnsea).
All of the latter DLCs are not included in NWN Diamond and are not available for sale to Diamond owners, and the EE DLCs are incompatible with NWN Diamond, so if you want to own and play them legally, you also have to own the EE.
