Multiplayer persistent worlds?
I never got into NWN. The charm of the game is in its persistent, multi-player worlds, right? Private servers that are maintained long-term? Is that the case with this new edition? Thanks!

So do these servers play out something like a small scale mmo? I have never dabbled or even looked into it.

Will surely have a look when I get off shift tomorrow.

Yes, you could say that, but each server is vastly different. A role Play server will have strict rules, regarding being OOC (Out of Charectar), but there are servers that are more hack n slash, easier leveling, etc.

I like the variety, but personally, for a true RP experience, there is no other online game that allows you to do so. I play on Arelith, the world is pretty much completely community driven. You can have persistant shops, housing, you can become a cook, or a city guard. Even the Mayor, and make and set laws into effect. Good stuff. Add me, if you want, I show you around.

Yes, it's a lot more intimate than an MMO, but it scales much higher than a typical pen and paper game. Our campaign at Knights of Noromath is a DM driven campaign story that players can affect with their actions; we pride ourselves on being the most credible "virtual tabletop" you can find with respect to lore and classic D&D conventions. We always remind people they can burn down any castle and kill any NPC, but the Forgotten Realms setting has things in store for that. Player agency is huge and we actually took a lot of inspiration from the Border Kingdoms, a long-lost NWN world where the ability of players to rise up to Lordship enabled dynamics and politics like no other. Balance this with some rich NPC interaction and a vast, several-years-long DM plot and you've got yourself a real rabbit-hole to tumble down.

OK, I downloaded the game. How might I join your server?

Great to hear it, Goat! OK, so next you'll want to simply subscribe to our workshop page. This will start a download that will supply you with all the required files. You'll see the progress at the bottom of steam, and once that's completed, you can restart Steam.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1347509089

Then, you can just click Multiplayer and click through to the Knights of Noromath. You can also direct connect to us at 47.32.157.73

We look forward to roleplaying with you!

Hey, I clicked Subscribe and made a character, but when I tried to load into your world, it said something about missing a module.

Hello Goatleaker! That's weird, I haven't heard of that error before. Did you restart Steam after completing the workshop download? I might even recommend rebooting your computer in this particular case. Let me know if that helps!

I'll try it! Thank you!
