Update: New classes crash as soon as I load in. Guess I'll just have to give it a couple months for somebody to to work their heads around the engine. But after repackaging the original campaign with the custom haks it DID at least load the classes. I tried :(

Didn't you have to use a program to create characters to use with PRC? If you try to make a character using one of the races in the pack it didn't work in the game engine? What race showed up?

Only vanilla races showed up.

Don't know, but PRC was the most complex mod I think anyone ever made so I know that it will be a little while before someone figures out what hapepned to chitin.key.

Yeah, a lot of mods aren't compatible any more like what's promised, but I guess that's okay?

I don't understand this. Do you mean PRC needs to be updated by its developer in the future? Becasue I dind't find any way to update it now in that thread.

Can you share what you did with it to make it work? Thank you.

Yeah, the creators of the mod are working on optimizing it for EE. Watch this space, I guess.

Hello, I'm the guy working on making the PRC work with EE. I've had nothing to do with the PRC before this.

Technically, the EE doesn't break the PRC. If it weren't for the fact that it currently crashes when loading it (bug has been opened) it would work with the PRC just fine. That's just a bug, it can be fixed. There's no fundamental changes in how the EE works that are backwards compatibility changes.

What the EE does break are the tools that the PRC uses to install itself. There's a couple of reasons for this:
  • The modules/hak/override/etc. directories now live in your User/Documents folder. This is required from Windows Vista onwards to avoid having to run the program as admin (no more annoying UAC prompts).
  • The directory structure inside the game installation directory has changed (music->mus, modules->mod... I suspect there is a thedailywtf-esque answer for this being a thing)
  • The command-line compiler that the original game shipped with wasn't shipped with the EE, so things that use it need to be updated to use another compiler

So the scripts that build the .hak files that make up the PRC need updating (done, only effects devs) and the program that attaches the PRC to the modules you're playing also needs updating (in progress, shouldn't be long before I'm done).

Ignoring the fact that the game crashes, you can crack open the toolset and manually attach the .hak files, hook up the PRCs events to the module and it should work.

--EDIT--

As already mentioned, regarding the new races, you could never select them in the original NWN. You had to use a third party chracter creator program in order to create a character that was a different race from the standard set available at character creation. This is the character creator I use[neverwintervault.org].

Beamdog have promised to fix this in future when they update the UI.

I don't want to necro this but, I read somewhere on the beamdog forum you are giving up on fixing the tool Plok?

If someone doesn't touch your bitbucket link and starts working on a fork, well what happens then? Does this prc pack just die, or per chance get updated by some other random fellow one day.

I honestly just want an idea as to if I should refund EE and stick to the original. Without prc pack, i'm not playing EE.

He JUST posted lol. I think he's begun to work on his own fork. Cheers!
