What is your Antivirus?
Did you try to allow the executable through Windows Controlled Folder Access:
1. As an Administrator, open Windows Defender Security Center
2. Click on "Virus and Threat Protection", or the little shield in the left side bar
3. Click on "Virus and threat protection settings"
4. Scroll down to "Controlled Folder Access"
5. If this setting is already turned on, click on "Allow an app through Controlled folder access"
6. Click on "Add an allowed app"
7. Navigate to your NWN:EE installation folder and click on the .exe and "Open"
What was wrong with the old way of clicking on the door to close it? You walk through doors and fight enemys through a doorway far more often than you need to close an open door.
@Vallux
Our developers have loaded up NWN:EE on the Mac again and they are not hearing the chopping of the music. Can you please check if it's still happening for you: do you hear the issue in the current stable version and/or the Development branch (beta on Steam)?
P.S. I will add this personal information. In my Steam folders, I have many. Two are titled thusly: WinXP and Useless. I have two PC's, the main one is the one I referenced the specs on. The other is a tri-boot system pretty much dedicated to gaming. Win 7 32 bit, WinXP 32 bit, DosBox(inside WinXP), and Linux. Currently Neverwinter is setting in the Useless folder. It would bring me great joy to move it to Favorites or Fun Classics or AAA In Play. I'm retired and game a lot. Always have. I don't do multi-player. Tried it and didn't like it. I build my own computers. I do not program, although I have done some very limited editing following precise instructions.
Do you think it is because I am running El Capitain instead of whatever the latest update for Mac is? The weird thing is that i dont get the popping on the beamdog logo, the D&D logo screen or even the opening video. It is only once i get to the main screen for the game and then all of the audio while playing. Even the voices and sound effects are popping. Basically all of the sound from the original game.
