Pale Master and Caster levels?

Is Pale Master supposed to add caster levels? I have a Wizard 8/ PM 2/ Cleric 1 and I think I should have 9 Wizard caster levels but it doesn't seem to do it. I do have access to 5th level spells just not getting caster levels. For example Greater Magic Weapon should give +1 per 3 caster levels to a max of +5. My character is casting a +2 magic weapon and should be +3 if he is getting 9 caster levels.

I'm not sure I would have chosen Pale Master if I knew how it worked. Maybe I will restart the game?

Nope, not unless the level you are taking in the description of Pale Master states you do. Otherwise, you receive other bonuses such as additional bonus to AC, Summon Undead, etc. At level 3 Pale Master you may receive additional caster level spells, but verify the description of when and what the prestiege class offers.

Wandering ♥♥♥♥♥ I'm not sure I understand. I had always thought that PM gave caster levels on 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. My character is Wizard 8 and PM 2. So 8 + 1 = 9 caster levels. Only 1 caster level from Palemaster level 1 but not Palemaster 2.

So does that make sense? I should have 9 caster levels correct?

Now I am getting 5th level spells indicating I am getting casting past Wizard 8th level.

But my CASTER LEVEL is only 8 instead of 9. Therefore I am not getting caster level from PM 1 and I never expected to get CL from PM 2. Caster level is pretty important for example I get 4 magic missiles instead of 5.

You receive a BONUS SPELL SLOT at PM 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, just like you do as if you had ALSO GAINED A LEVEL.

You are not gaining a CASTER CLASS but a BONUS SPELL. To receive a CASTER CLASS, you must pick Wizard on your next level up.

OK thanks I understand now. Hmmm I might see if I can make a different choice and replay the content I have gone through so far. :) Thanks. I was getting tired of mugging civilians to keep my alignment in check anyhow!
