STORY MODE?
The thing I love most about Beamdog enhanced releases of classic games like this is the addition of "story mode" in which you cannot die... basically a god mode. I like this because it allows you to experiment and try different things and blow past harder sections when you don't want to spend a lot of time on a long, difficult battle to get to the next part of the story. Why didn't you include "story mode" with NWN EE? I'm pretty bummed about that.

I've found one can make their own story mode by crafting an item and loading it down with Damage Immunities, spell immunities, and what-have-you. Of course this is relatively meaningless since you lose your gear at the start of Horde of the Underdark, so maybe there is something to be said about a Storymode...

Isn't there a God Mode cheat?

I don't like God Mode because it makes game triggers show up as huge yellow blocks (kind of like traps). I just wanted a Story Mode where you can play through the game for it's story rather the combat challenges.

Hey, be nice, Story Mode was the only reason I even tolerated the murderprone insanity that is Baldur's Gate 1.

Is there an update on this? im trying to get my 14 year old brother in law to play some games with me and if we could run around in story mode together i think i could teach it to him a little easier than going in the old fassion way. our family has been doing table top dnd a little bit and he wants to play some games with me since we only play tabletop once every week or two.
You can do it without an update. Type the following in your chat bar (hit Enter in game):
##DebugMode 1

. (key opens the "Chooser" dm screen

expand the highlighted area, expand the "creatures" and select the PCs you want and select "Toggle Immortality".

##DebugMode 0

Play away!

There's a card which can be voted for on the Input Trello: https://trello.com/c/Gyt0oXH6/129-add-the-story-mode

same, i won't be buying this game because no story mode

Buying the game for the story would be a mistake anyway. ;)

That being said, you can set the game to Easy Mode, or you can set your character to immortal as explained above, or you can use the console for all kinds of cheats, or you can even start the campaign with an uber powerful character and top notch equipment, so what more would you expect? You can easily customize your own Story Mode.
