Even though we're "just now" going live on March 27, Thay has been around and continuously developed for over 10 years. It is a large, well-polished PW with many custom features[1drv.ms] and things to keep our players entertained. For example, we have over 120 areas of adventure, and 650 areas in total, not to mention two overland maps (Thay[1drv.ms] and the Underdark[1drv.ms]) comprised of leagues-upon-leagues of travel and adventure opportunities. There's thousands of custom magic items, forges to enchant your own items, unlimited quests, and much, much more.
Maybe even more importantly though; we've also been actively developing on NWNEE using the new features that have been rolling out. A couple examples where we've made use of NWNEE functionality are that our players now have true open-face helms, as well as a very robust player-housing system[1drv.ms] which now generates player-decorated buildings and even lets players name those locations (among many other configurable options).
If you'd like to get a sneak peak and investigate Thay yourself before we go live, you can visit the "Forgotten Realms Thay" server which is found in the Multiplayer server list in NWNEE. Otherwise though, I'd invite you to stop by on or after March 27 and join in the "go live" festivities.

Hope to see you there!
Excited for it either way though :)
Hope we see you in-game sometime!
Either way though, elves are the least notorious of the non-subrace characters a player can create, so even as a free character, elves become notorious as a slower rate than most other races (especially humans). Thay is a realm ruled by evil racist human wizards after all...
Sorry if that's a dumb question.
Not a dumb question in fact welcome to NWN ^^ most dedicated server are persistant 24/7 online and has a decent community to roleplay with. You will easily suit yourself within this new world. Its not "MMO" type from today because of the 64 players but interaction is surely going to happens. It can look like your typical MMO experience of 2010's games but with less grinding. And its DnD universe so
(Feels free to correct me on things if I'm wrong my goal was simply to answer him quickly)
@Balanor : Interesting server. I'm gonna hop on tomorrow to check it out for sure ^^
For example, the Thay PW is a NWN module that has been designed to encompass the entire land of Thay in the Forgotten Realms, using the D&D 3.0 and 3.5 rulesets for many of its systems and features. So if you look at a Forgotten Realms map of Thay, that is how the Thay PW module is laid out with its cities and points of interest. But then there is much more that has been setup to provide entertainment as well - many adventure locations, unlimited quests, item enchantment and creation, character and clothing customization options, and a bunch of other features.
Not every PW has the same setup and features though, so if you login to one and determine it's not really suited to your style of play, it's very easy to just move on and try out another.
While normal is a bit subjective, Thay was designed to stay as close to official Forgotten Realms 3.0 and 3.5 lore as possible. For example, we have a limited selection of subraces that are supported, and since humans rule Thay, they are the "easiest" race to first get started with if you just want to check us out. You will not find "half-dragon, half-demon, half-god" characters with wings and glowing eyes and 100 attacks per round in Thay. ;)
Also, Thay is a roleplay server where we ask players to stay in-character while around others, or else keep OOC conversations limited to in-game "Tells" (Private Messages). While some of the themes on the server are mature, we are *not* a social server like Sinfar, if that is something you are concerned with. Thay is more about running traditional D&D events and campaigns than things like ERP or making the most unique characters possible.
Yes, traditional RPG thanks.
