Bug in trials of faith, heal
I can't finish the trials of faith as a cleric. I cast a healing spell on the guy kneeling down, and turn undead on the skeleton, but the trainer still says "something is amiss..." I've gone out of the room many times, rested, and come back to heal the guy and still can't finish the trial somehow. I've restarted the tutorial with the same character, thinking I cast the wrong spell initially. What is going on? It seems no one on Google or on here has had this problem, which is very odd.
I'm running this on Linux, and I'll try it again on different computer, but this is just odd.

Did you make Charisma a dump stat?

Turning undead, needs to have a postitive score, and if your charisma is low you aren't going to be able to turn the skeleton I think.

regardless you should be able to do the melee combat trial, and move on with the tutorial.

Ah that sadly has been a bug form day one, its not a bug so much as a error in how they coded the quest that was never properly addressed. It was never a issue because it helped teach you about how the Cleric status worked. If your Cha and Wis are too low you will not win it's advised you start with a +1 to each of the status in question I bring the toon into a demo mod to give them a few levels first just 1 or 2 so I can Stats out my cleric better.

another thing to note is a Cleric in NWN can use full plate armor and not have ANY spell penalty since they are not a Dex based class. this means you can start with dex and int at 0 and even go into the neg on int thou its not advised due to lore check.

Clerics in WNW still have status buffs so they don't need heavy str stat but it does factor into what your choice weapons and armor will be a little. as you level you want to focus on building your Wisdom stat but that's not all you want to focus on. basicly put its a game that at the start you want to be more even in your status spread and if you chose not to be leveling a little so you have no neg is going to help more than hurt.

I'm using a pre-gen'd character, Eayle the cleric. Her Cha is 16 and Wis a 17. I've never played NWN before (!).
I can turn Undead the skeleton just fine. When I cast the Heal spell on the "injured" guy it seems to work, and no obvious errors. It says he is healed by 0hp, because he actually isn't injured.
I also cannot complete the tutorial by doing the melee tasks only, as a cleric. After doing both melee and ranged tests, the guy Herban says I HAVE TO complete the cleric challenge.
I guess I'll just pick another character class to unlock the next chapter.
In nwn.ini under Game options add the following:

CODEWORD=hacktastic
CODEWORD XP1=ffrodriguez
CODEWORD XP2=barkeater

That will unlock all chapters.

Though you might try talking to the guy guarding the double doors. He might let you through.

I've been stuck at this for a while as well until I discovered you need to cast the level 0 "Cure Minor Wounds" spell (not the level 6 "Heal" spell or any other healing spell). Putting it here in case it helps anyone who arrives at this page after googling it just like I did

Have you done a minor healing instead of a cure light. You need to use the cantrip version of heal to succeed in healing the guy. I just finished the trials and that is what I have always used and haven't had a problem with it.
