Neverwinter Nights Steam Version CDKey.ini missing

Need help with Neverwinter Nights Steam version, I'm trying to connect to multiplayer but it never creates the CDKey.ini file, I've tried every fix I've found so far but nothing has worked

A friend of mine is having the same issue, as well as a couple other people it seems.

This has been an issue for quite some time it seems with no fix in sight. I didn't have the issue, by my wife is having it, and one of my friends is having it. It's very frustrating since we can't play together.

You're all on Steam copies, I suppose? Have you tried deleting your (her) cdkey.ini file? And/or "Verifying Files" through Steam?

What if the cdkey.ini never gets created? is there anyway around that

In my friend's case, there never was a CDKey file to begin with (and yes, Steam)

Perhaps the "Verify Files" function on the Steam app. I'm not really a Steam user, just a NWN player.

Not sure about the others here, but my friend still had the same issue even after a complete reinstall of the game.

Yea, the Verify Files and a complete reinstall of the game hasn't helped, the file is still missing / its never showing up

I am having this same isue, no cdkey.ini is created when I cleck multplayer, have tried everything has listed so far for troubleshooting. Disabling firewall and antiviris, bypassing router.

I think y'all are all watching this post, so I'll just post it this once. Shadooow (a PW admin) said one of his players had the same issue, and he got a CDKEY from Beamdog support. That means you'll have to sign into their support page and send a ticket or something. Apparently Steam just points you at BD anyway. He said it took them a day or two, I think.

It would appear it is (now) a common issue on the Steam installations.

Julius (quoted below) is one of the developers. He's suggested that creating an exception in your Anti-Virus for NWN will fix this.
